Job Overview We are seeking an experienced, hands-on, and detail-oriented Warehouse Manager to lead our frozen warehouse operations . This critical leadership role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of a temperature-controlled distribution facility, including inventory management, shipping and receiving, employee supervision, food safety compliance, and operational performance. The ideal candidate will have experience managing warehouse operations in a frozen food, cold storage, or temperature-controlled environment , with a strong focus on safety, product integrity, inventory accuracy, and productivity. You will drive operational excellence by optimizing workflows, maintaining cold chain compliance, and leading a high-performing team committed to customer service and continuous improvement. Responsibilities Lead, coach, and supervise warehouse employees, including training, scheduling, and performance management to ensure a safe, productive, and engaged workforce. Oversee daily frozen warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, replenishment, order selection, loading, and shipping activities. Ensure strict adherence to cold chain requirements and temperature-control standards to maintain product quality and food safety. Manage inventory accuracy through cycle counts, physical inventories, audits, and effective inventory control procedures. Utilize Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and ERP platforms to monitor inventory levels, order fulfillment, shipment tracking, and operational performance. Coordinate transportation and outbound logistics activities with carriers, distribution partners, and third-party logistics providers (3PLs) to ensure on-time deliveries. Monitor facility performance, labor utilization, and key operational metrics to identify opportunities for increased efficiency and cost savings. Maintain compliance with OSHA, FDA, food safety, HACCP, SQF, GMP, and company safety standards. Oversee shipping and receiving operations, ensuring accurate documentation, proper product rotation (FIFO/FEFO), and efficient dock management. Ensure all material handling equipment, including forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks, and refrigeration systems, are operated safely and maintained properly. Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean methodologies and best practices to improve productivity, reduce errors, and increase operational efficiency. Collaborate with procurement, customer service, transportation, and operations teams to support business objectives and customer requirements. Assist with budgeting, labor planning, equipment management, and warehouse expense control. Qualifications & Skills Proven experience managing warehouse operations in a frozen, refrigerated, food distribution, or cold storage facility . Strong leadership and team development skills with the ability to motivate employees in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment. Comprehensive knowledge of warehouse operations, logistics, inventory management, and supply chain processes. Experience working with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Transportation Management Systems (TMS), and ERP software such as AS400 or similar platforms. Thorough understanding of cold chain management, temperature-controlled storage requirements, and food safety regulations. Knowledge of inventory control practices including cycle counting, lot tracking, FIFO, FEFO, and product traceability. Experience with transportation coordination, freight management, 3PL partnerships, and carrier performance management. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with experience using operational metrics and supply chain analytics to improve performance. Certification and experience operating forklifts and other warehouse equipment preferred. Ability to work in a cold-temperature environment and oversee operations within freezer storage areas. Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and warehouse reporting systems. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. 3-5+ years of warehouse management experience in frozen food distribution, grocery, food manufacturing, or cold storage operations. HACCP, SQF, GMP, OSHA, or food safety certifications are a plus.
