: Responsible for all functions within Ventura Foods Duluth Warehouse including shipping, receiving and finished goods inventory control.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee all warehouse activities (hiring, managing expectations, training & developing personnel, completing disciplinary action and/or termination of all warehouse personnel). Manage and oversee all warehouse inventory management and reconciliation processes to ensure accuracy via A.B, C Class Format cycle counts. Conduct audit mock recalls Manage forklift training and recertification program Manage and assist the warehouse Shipping Clerk, receiving lead and inventory specialist daily as required for plant inventory success. Manage shipping and receiving department workload as required daily to meet customer requirements while avoiding cuts & detention cost. Manage waste management vendors as needed associated with trash dock and outside grounds by keeping areas organized, etc. Manage 3rd party inventory by conducting bi-monthly site audits to ensure inventory accuracy. Ensures correct inventory levels of finished goods are maintained accurately via effective weekly cycle counts and weekly WHS KPI reports. Develop and install procedures and practices for effective warehouse operations as part of continuous improvement. Conduct root cause analysis as needed to mitigate warehouse driven errors, customer complaints, and/or inventory gaps. Conducts training of warehouse personnel ensuring continued education is maintained for ongoing warehouse programs. Assists scheduling of inbound/outbound trucks used by Ventura Foods as required for receiving, rotation, inventory accuracy, shipping on time and not shipping short. Coordinate cycle counting of finished goods. Manage resupply orders in QAD, AS400, and B-PIC's in warehouse ERP system Manage republic services 40yard and compactor schedule Update Label Verification book for Receiving Work with Customer Service to help resolve Customer Complaints Manage Warehouse Inventory Which includesFG, RAW MIS-PACK FORMULAS.
Manage warehouse operation hours and communicate effectively with GM Schedule Weekly Inventory Variance Meeting to resolve Inventory Discrepancies Cross Train all warehouse personnel in various functions Update Receiving/Shipping/Staging/Label Verification SOPS as needed Hold Daily huddle/KPI meeting with the team Schedule Forklift (P.I.T) PM quarterly and monitors operator's daily inspections and maintenance needs Responsible for assuring compliance with all Food Safety policies, procedures and regulatory criterion including the current SQF code, Good Manufacturing Practices, and the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) and associated Preventive Controls. Bachelors degree or equivalent experience. Five years of food manufacturing experience along with exposure to production scheduling, purchasing, warehouse and plant engineering/maintenance.Knowledge and Skills:
Must be a team builder, leader, and change initiator. Must be able to communicate accurately and clearly both orally and in writing using electronic media, telephone and direct contact with internal and external personnel. Skill set must include strong analytical, observation, and coaching skills coupled with initiative to create and embrace change.LANGUAGE SKILLS
: Must be able to train and motivate subordinates.MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
: Associate degree including Business Math courses is preferred but not required if experience is equivalent.REASONING ABILITY
: Must be able to implement long range planning with the ability to readjust schedules on a daily basis as demand requires. The manager must being willing to work weekends as needed and 9-12hr days as needed to support department shipping requirements and/or oversee 2nd shift hourly personnel.CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
: Certification in current warehousing procedures a must. Previous managerial training seminars as well as proper lifting and safety courses desired.PHYSICAL DEMANDS
: Must be able to work flexible hours as demand requires.WORK ENVIRONMENT
: Demanding workload-requiring attention to details and effective communication with personnel, peers internal & external, and effective collaboration to root cause & process improve as it relates plant performance.PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Working Overtime as needed, often involving critical inventory and shipping and receiving time frames. This is a working warehouse management role, meaning physical and clerical work is required for the associate that fills this role while leading the department. Ability to perform physical work, exerting up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, up to 30 lbs. frequently, and up to 20 lbs. constantly, performing such activities as reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, feeling, lifting, and grasping. Works in normal manufacturing environment. Potential exposure to equipment movement hazards and dangerous chemicals/solvents if proper safety procedures are not followed.
