In this pivotal role, you will oversee the daily functions of our distribution center, ensuring smooth logistics, efficient inventory control, and safe material handling. Your leadership will drive process improvements, optimize warehouse workflows, and foster a team-oriented environment that emphasizes safety, accuracy, and productivity. This position offers an exciting opportunity to manage a fast-paced warehouse environment while implementing lean management principles and utilizing advanced inventory management systems. Responsibilities Supervise all aspects of warehouse distribution, including shipping, receiving, inventory management, and materials handling. Lead and motivate a team of warehouse staff, providing clear managerial communication and fostering a culture of teamwork and accountability. Oversee the operation of forklift and other material handling equipment to ensure safe and efficient movement of goods. Implement process improvements to enhance warehouse efficiency, reduce waste, and streamline distribution center operations using lean management techniques. Maintain accurate inventory control through regular cycle counts and utilizing inventory management systems such as AS400 or Warehouse Management System (WMS). Ensure compliance with OSHA standards and safety protocols during all warehouse activities. Coordinate logistics activities to optimize shipping & receiving schedules and ensure timely delivery of products. Utilize RF scanners and other technology tools for inventory tracking and order fulfillment accuracy. Manage warehouse documentation, including inbound/outbound logs, incident reports, and shift reports. Skills Extensive experience in warehouse operations with a strong background in distribution center management. Proficiency in inventory management systems such as AS400 or equivalent WMS platforms. Skilled in process improvement methodologies like lean management to enhance operational efficiency. Ability to operate or oversee the operation of forklift and other heavy lifting equipment safely. Strong team leadership skills with excellent communication abilities for managing diverse teams. Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and materials handling best practices. Familiarity with logistics planning, shipping & receiving procedures, and inventory control techniques. Competence in using Microsoft Office tools for reporting and documentation purposes. Experience with warehouse supervisor roles or managerial positions within large-scale warehouses or distribution centers is preferred.
