Capitol Heights, MD In This Role, You'll:
The Transportation Manager will oversee all activities related to a facility's transportation, ensuring that Division and Company objectives for efficiency, economy, quality, and productivity are met or exceeded.
What You'll Bring:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field from an accredited college or university.
Experience:
3 to 6 years of work experience in transportation or food distribution, including supervisory responsibilities and union work environments. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities DOT regulations, policies, and procedures (J) On-board computer systems (J) Relevant safety policies, practices and procedures (J) Management/supervisory concepts and techniques (B) Project management concepts and techniques (B) Budgetary concepts and procedures (B) PC word-processing/spreadsheet software applications (B) Scheduling and routing (B) Computer-based routing systems (B) Shipment and distribution of food or allied products (B) Regional geography and customer locations (B) Skill and ability to: Supervises, through subordinate management, 100 or more employees, including hourly staff. Manages projects with significant financial and customer-service impact. Establishes and communicates department goals, monitoring employee performance to ensure they are met or exceeded. (15%) Provides training, development, and performance evaluations of department staff; works with Human Resources to department hiring to ensure selection of qualified employees. (15%) Directs the completion of routing, manpower, and equipment schedules to ensure that organizational KPIs are met. (15%) Coordinates daily and monthly repairs and preventative maintenance for all tractors and trailers with Penske for safety, to minimize down time, and to comply with DOT and other Federal and State transportation and safety regulations for all GSF distribution centers. (15%) Develops, audits, and manages the budget and operations costs to ensure efficient operations. (10%) Obtains, analyzes, and recommends equipment specifications, quotes, and procurement for essential department equipment to ensure effective use of operating funds. (5%) Performs other related and assigned duties as necessary.

Pay & Benefits:
Pay Range (Base Pay): $65
- $68 annually Weekly pay (every Friday)
Other Compensation:
May include shift differentials, overtime pay, bonuses, or other incentive pay as applicable to the position and location.
