The Warehouse Operations Manager will be responsible for the daily warehouse operations, personnel, inventory, shipping, receiving, safety and overall facility performance. The Warehouse Operations Manager provides hands-on-leadership who can manage people, improve processes, maintain accountability and ensure the warehouse operates safely and efficiently.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform day-to-day accounting tasks and maintain the accuracy and efficiency of the department. The duties include, but are not limited to the following: Oversee all daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, picking, staging, loading, and shipping Lead, train, schedule, and hold warehouse employees accountable for performance Establish clear expectations and productivity standards for warehouse personnel Monitor daily workflow and ensure customer and company deadlines are met Manage inbound receiving and outbound shipping operations Maintain accurate inventory levels and investigate inventory discrepancies Ensure products are properly stored, labeled, handled, and rotated Coordinate with transportation, purchasing, sales, and management to ensure smooth operations Monitor warehouse labor, productivity, overtime, and operating costs Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce unnecessary expenses Develop and maintain warehouse procedures and standard operating procedures Maintain a clean, organized, and professional warehouse environment Ensure all employees follow company safety policies and procedures Conduct regular safety meetings and address unsafe working conditions Manage warehouse equipment and coordinate maintenance when needed Monitor forklifts and other material-handling equipment Track key warehouse performance indicators and report results to management Resolve employee, customer, inventory, and operational issues promptly Assist with hiring, onboarding, training, and employee development Work with management to establish goals and improve overall warehouse profitability Comfortable interacting with customers and sales calls
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
3+ years of warehouse, distribution, or logistics management experience preferred Previous experience supervising or managing warehouse employees Strong understanding of warehouse receiving, inventory, and shipping processes Experience with inventory management systems/WMS preferred Strong leadership and organizational skills Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Strong computer skills Ability to analyze operational information and make improvements based on results Forklift experience is preferred Must be willing to be hands-on and actively involved in daily warehouse operations
