Warehouse & Shipping Manager Job Summary We are looking for a dependable, organized, and hands-on Warehouse & Shipping Manager to oversee our daily warehouse, packing, and shipping operations. This position will be responsible for managing a small team of warehouse employees and making sure all daily customer orders are accurately packed, processed, and shipped on time through UPS, USPS, and other carriers as needed . The right person will take ownership of the warehouse operation. This means staying ahead of the daily workload, identifying potential problems before they become delays, properly scheduling employees, and making sure we have enough staff to handle busy periods. This is a hands-on management position. The Warehouse & Shipping Manager should be comfortable working alongside the team when necessary while also supervising employees, organizing workflow, and keeping the operation running efficiently. Language Requirement Bilingual Spanish and English required. Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively in both Spanish and English with warehouse employees, management, shipping carriers, temporary employees, and staffing agencies. Must be comfortable giving instructions, training employees, resolving workplace issues, and communicating daily priorities in both languages. Responsibilities Oversee all daily warehouse, packing, receiving, and shipping operations. Manage and supervise warehouse employees. Make sure all daily orders are picked, packed, labeled, and shipped accurately and on time. Manage UPS and USPS shipments, including shipping labels, pickups, and carrier-related issues. Monitor the daily order volume and organize the team based on workload and priorities. Create and manage employee work schedules. Identify when additional labor will be needed based on order volume, seasonality, call-outs, or other circumstances. Coordinate and hire temporary warehouse employees when additional help is needed. Assign daily responsibilities and make sure employees understand what is expected of them. Monitor employee productivity, attendance, accuracy, and overall performance. Train new warehouse and shipping employees. Step in and help with packing, shipping, receiving, or other warehouse duties when necessary. Coordinate and manage the unloading of incoming containers, ensuring products are safely received, counted, inspected, and moved to their designated storage locations. Organize warehouse inventory and ensure products are placed in the correct locations for efficient storage and retrieval. Maintain accurate inventory and location records using computer systems or warehouse management software. Use computers and shipping, inventory, and order-processing systems to enter, update, and retrieve information accurately. Identify potential shipping delays or operational problems and take action before they affect customers. Troubleshoot incorrect shipments, missing packages, damaged packages, carrier problems, and other shipping issues. Make sure shipping supplies such as boxes, tape, labels, packing materials, and other warehouse supplies are always adequately stocked. Maintain an organized, clean, and safe warehouse. Help develop better procedures to improve shipping speed, accuracy, inventory organization, and productivity. Communicate regularly with ownership/management regarding staffing needs, shipping issues, employee concerns, inventory, and operational challenges. Make sure important deadlines and carrier pickup times are met every day. Help reduce shipping errors, unnecessary overtime, inventory discrepancies, and wasted materials. Maintain accountability within the warehouse team and address problems when they occur. What We're Looking For Previous warehouse, shipping, fulfillment, or operations experience preferred. Previous supervisory or management experience preferred. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment. Ability to manage and motivate a small team. Good problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions independently. Dependable and punctual. Comfortable holding employees accountable for performance and attendance. Able to recognize staffing needs and adjust schedules accordingly. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Comfortable using computers and learning warehouse/shipping software. Able to communicate clearly with employees, management, carriers, and temporary staffing agencies. Willing to be hands-on and help the team when needed. Key Expectations The Warehouse & Shipping Manager will be expected to take ownership of the department and make sure the warehouse operates smoothly without requiring constant direction from ownership.
Success in this position means:
Daily orders ship on time. Shipping errors are kept to a minimum. Employees know their responsibilities each day. The warehouse is properly staffed. Problems are identified and handled quickly. Carrier deadlines and pickups are not missed. Overtime is managed appropriately. Supplies are ordered before they run out. The warehouse remains organized and productive. Management is informed of important problems before they become larger issues. We are looking for someone who can think ahead, take responsibility, manage people, solve problems, and keep our daily shipping operation running smoothly.
