Operations Manager - Life Sciences Distribution Easton, PA | On-site |
Second Shift:
Monday-Friday, 3:00 PM-11:30 PM | $100,000-$120,000 base + bonus A growing life sciences logistics operation is seeking a hands-on Operations Manager to lead second-shift warehouse and distribution activities in a highly regulated, temperature-controlled environment. This is a visible leadership role for someone who can do more than maintain established processes: the successful leader will think critically, develop supervisors, solve problems in a maturing operation, and build strong relationships with an on-site customer while protecting quality, safety, compliance, and product integrity. The operation is approximately 226,000 square feet and supports inbound and outbound distribution of high-value life sciences materials across frozen, refrigerated, and controlled room temperature environments. The Operations Manager will lead 3-5 supervisors and approximately 20 indirect team members while working closely with site leadership, Quality, and the customer. What You Will Own
- Lead second-shift inbound and outbound warehouse operations supporting life sciences and pharmaceutical supply chains.
- Coach, develop, and hold Warehouse Supervisors and frontline teams accountable for performance, safety, quality, and customer service.
- Serve as a key on-site customer-facing leader, handling requests, operational issues, KPI discussions, daily/weekly communication, and business reviews with sound judgment and professionalism.
- Operate within cGMP/GDP expectations and applicable
FDA/DSCSA
requirements, maintaining audit readiness, documentation discipline, product integrity, and adherence to quality agreements.
- Drive performance across throughput, fulfillment accuracy, OTIF, receiving/shipping timeliness, inventory and cycle-count accuracy, deviations/CAPA, safety, customer satisfaction, and budget performance.
- Partner with Quality on investigations, deviations, CAPAs, documentation accuracy, ALCOA+ principles, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Identify practical solutions in a growing operation where processes and infrastructure continue to mature; use critical thinking rather than simply relying on established procedure.
- Manage staffing, develop junior leaders, reinforce accountability, and build a collaborative, high-engagement culture.
- Support LEAN and continuous improvement efforts that strengthen service, efficiency, quality, and operational discipline.
- Maintain a safety-first environment and compliance with OSHA and other applicable regulatory requirements. What We Are Looking For
- 8-10 years of progressive operations leadership experience in warehousing, distribution, or logistics.
- Meaningful experience operating in a cGMP/GDP environment; direct pharmaceutical or life sciences distribution experience is highly desirable, but strong regulated-industry experience will be considered.
- Experience leading inbound and outbound operations in a temperature-controlled and/or highly regulated environment.
- Demonstrated ability to coach and develop supervisors and frontline leaders, build teams, and create accountability.
- Strong critical thinking and independent decision-making skills, including the judgment to navigate ambiguity and appropriately challenge issues when safety, quality, compliance, or customer outcomes are at risk.
- Comfort working directly with demanding customers and balancing customer needs with quality agreements, regulatory expectations, and sound operating practices.
- Working knowledge of audit readiness, deviations, CAPA, documentation controls, product integrity, and ALCOA+ principles.
- Ability to understand operational financials, manage a departmental budget, and connect operating decisions to business performance.
- Proficiency with warehouse management systems and Microsoft Office; SAP or Manhattan experience is a plus.
B.S./B.A.
in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field preferred.
- Dangerous Goods/Hazardous Materials certification preferred; Certified Designated Representative (CDR) licensure is a plus.

The organization is looking for someone who can help mature a relatively young operation, operate effectively through daily challenges and ambiguity, and build leadership capability beneath them. A safety- and quality-minded leader who asks good questions, communicates directly, and aspires to broader responsibility over time will be especially well aligned. Schedule, Compensation & Benefits

- Bonus opportunity tied to site and company performance.
