Warehouse Manager About the
Role:
Sunsets West is seeking a hands-on Warehouse Manager to oversee daily warehouse operations supporting construction projects in El Paso, Texas. This role manages inventory, shipping and receiving, material staging, and warehouse organization to ensure production teams and construction crews have the tools, equipment, and materials they need to keep projects on schedule. The ideal candidate brings warehouse or materials management experience, strong organizational skills, and the ability to lead by example in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage warehouse operations: Oversee receiving, storage, material distribution, and daily workflow throughout the warehouse and yard.
Maintain inventory accuracy:
Track construction materials, hardware, tools, equipment, and supplies; conduct physical inventory counts and resolve discrepancies.
Coordinate shipping and receiving:
Verify deliveries against purchase orders and packing lists, inspect materials for damage, and maintain accurate receiving and shipment records.
Prepare materials for crews:
Pick, organize, and stage materials for production teams and construction projects.
Support purchasing and project schedules:
Monitor material usage, communicate replenishment needs, and coordinate with project managers, field supervisors, production teams, and purchasing staff.
Lead warehouse personnel:
Train, supervise, and schedule employees as needed while setting clear expectations for safety, accuracy, and accountability. Maintain a safe, organized facility: Establish warehouse procedures and ensure materials are properly labeled, stored, and handled.
Support equipment operation and loading:
Operate or oversee the safe use of forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment; assist with loading, unloading, and securing materials.
Improve warehouse efficiency:
Identify opportunities to reduce material loss, waste, handling time, and project delays.
Required Qualifications:
At least 3 years of warehouse, inventory control, or materials management experience. Ability to prioritize daily tasks and coordinate material needs in a fast-paced environment. Ability to safely operate a forklift. Ability to read and understand packing lists, purchase orders, material orders, and basic construction documentation. Basic computer skills and experience using inventory or warehouse management software. Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Ability to perform the physical duties of the position, including lifting, moving, and handling construction materials, with or without reasonable accommodation. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous warehouse supervisory or management experience. Experience in construction, manufacturing, building materials, or a related industry. Forklift certification.
