JOB DUTIES
Essential job functions and duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
Production, Backlog and Sales Forecast Support :
Translate approved forecast, open orders, backlog and the production plan into time-phased ingredient and packaging requirements.
Material Readiness and Planning :
Lead a weekly readiness review covering scheduled orders, open purchase orders, supplier confirmations, shortages, substitutions, incoming inspection, testing and Quality-release timing.
Procurement Team Management and PO Execution :
Direct daily purchasing activity and establish clear priorities, workload expectations and coverage plans. Strategic Sourcing and commercial
Management :
Source dietary supplement ingredients and packaging components that meet approved specifications, quality requirements, customer commitments and cost targets. Obtain competitive bids where practical and negotiate price, lead time, payment terms, freight and other commercial terms based on total cost.
Supplier Qualification, Risk and Performance :
Develop qualified secondary sources for critical materials in coordination with Quality and R & D. Maintain supplier scorecards for on-time and complete delivery, quality, responsiveness, lead-time accuracy and cost.
Inventory and Warehouse Management:
Oversee inventory levels to ensure optimal stock while minimizing excess or shortages. Implement effective inventory control systems and monitor accuracy. Manage warehouse operations, including layout, organization, and safety compliance. Lead receiving, put-away, storage, cycle counting, material staging, finished goods staging and shipment coordination. Review slow moving, excess, obsolete and date-sensitive inventory at least monthly.
Logistics and Transportation:
Coordinate transportation and distribution to ensure timely delivery of goods. Optimize logistics processes to reduce costs and improve delivery performance. Address transportation challenges, including customs regulations and freight management.
Quality and Regulator Coordination:
Ensure Procurement only purchases approved supplier/component combinations.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
Analyze supply chain to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement. Prepare reports and dashboards for senior management, providing insights and recommendations.
Team Leadership and Development:
Mentor and develop the supply chain team to achieve departmental goals. Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Compliance and Sustainability:
Ensure all supply chain activities comply with legal and regulatory requirements. Promote sustainable practices, including waste reduction and eco-friendly sourcing.

Job Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Strong leadership skills with direct experience managing procurement, sourcing, materials, inventory or warehouse employees. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels in the organization. (Bilingual English/Spanish a plus). Outstanding problem solving, time management, interpersonal and customer service skills a must. Effective planning and organizational skills as they relate to production processes, machinery, and warehouse operations. Strong knowledge of Supply Chain methods/systems, continuous improvement processes, problem analysis, and resolution. Proficient knowledge of quality system awareness as they apply to FDA cGMP standards. Effective presentations kills (one- on-one or in group settings) and effective telephone etiquette skills/techniques. Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with suppliers, operations, project coordinator, and the sales team. Proficient in PC skills/usage (Microsoft Word, Excell, Outlook and PowerPoint. Proven negotiation skills and experience in supplier/vendor management. Ability to travel to meet with suppliers, as needed. The appropriate knowledge, skills and abilities required for this position are achievable through the following combination of education, work experience, and training: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administrations, or a related field. 7 or more years of experience in supply chain management, (procurement, sourcing, supply chain, materials management or warehouse operations) with a history of progressive leadership responsibilities. 3+ years of direct sourcing or procurement in dietary supplements, food, nutraceuticals, pharmaceuticals or similarly related manufacturing environment preferred. Experience with SharePoint, IQMS, NetSuite or comparable ERP.MRP system. Demonstrated results improving suppler delivery, inventory accuracy, material availability, purchasing cost, grow margin or warehouse execution. Proven leadership experience leading procurement/sourcing, and warehouse teams.
