Job Description

Scope:
The Logistics Group Leader reports directly to the Materials Leader and is responsible for providing work direction to the shipping team and developing a robust process for shipments both inbound and outbound with an emphasis on creating a competitive advantage through world-class logistics for the ITI business. Logistics Team Leader will also be responsible for identifying and leading key projects with the materials team focused on improving shipping process and equipment.
Essential Functions:
Partner with both internal and external teams including shipping team, suppliers, customers, carriers, freight-forwarders, product management, and supply chain: Enforce and follow all EHS safety standards, Maintain proper housekeeping Perform daily inspection of all the equipment and tools prior to use. Understand CTQ's and assure that work meets expected quality standards, Participate in Lean/5s improvement in work area, and apply Lean concepts to improve efficiency, Document/record productivity, if required, for SQDC board tracking Train, develop and lead shipping team members through the application of shipping process expertise. Coordinate daily shipments, both outbound and inbound, for all departments. Lead resolution on all logistics related issues, including missing / wrong labels, quality issues, and missed shipments. Ensure compliance with domestic and international trade regulations. Lead the effort to continually improve efficiency and effectiveness of logistic procedures, written documentation, work instructions, and cross training plans. Effectively utilize Logistical systems to process shipments and coordinate logistics (Oracle, MFG systems, other Logistics systems). Provide pro-active transportation/delivery information to our customers. Monitor customer arranged freight and freight forwarders to ensure all required documentation is available for on-time shipments. Interface daily with internal teams to meet business objectives and external customer requirements. Oversee the completion of all international shipment activities related to Certificates of Origins, NAFTA, STTAS Classifications, Commercial Invoices, Chambers of commerce commodity codes, letters of credit, customs, export regulations, packing lists, etc.
Cost Management:
Develop projects to best leverage cost effective terms and conditions for both domestic and international carriers. Manage all Claims and cost recovery with carriers such as damaged or lost freight
Qualifications:
Minimum 2 + years Supply Chain experience. Demonstrated shipping process expertise and leadership Proven results in negotiation skills.
Self-Starter:
Ability to work with little or no direction. Strong team integration skills with the ability to communicate at all layers of the Business.
Desired:
Greenbelt or Blackbelt Certification.
