Materials Management Professional Progressive Plastics — Elwood, IN About Us Progressive Plastics is a manufacturing company specializing in injection molding, assembly, and packaging, serving a wide range of industrial and consumer markets. We're looking for a detail-oriented Materials Management Professional to keep our supply chain running smoothly and support production efficiency. About the Role We're seeking a Materials Manager/Coordinator to oversee inventory control, purchasing, and materials flow from receiving through production to shipping. You'll work closely with production, purchasing, and warehouse teams to ensure the right resin, materials, and components are in the right place at the right time. Responsibilities
  • Plan and manage inventory levels (resin, additives, colorants, packaging, components) to support injection molding production schedules while minimizing excess stock
  • Coordinate purchasing of raw materials and supplies
  • Track incoming shipments and resolve delivery or quality discrepancies with vendors
  • Maintain accurate inventory records in ERP/MRP systems
  • Conduct cycle counts and periodic physical inventories
  • Collaborate with production planning to prevent material shortages or line downtime
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements
  • Manage relationships with resin and component suppliers; negotiate terms/pricing
  • Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards in materials handling Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in materials management, inventory control, or supply chain (plastics or injection molding manufacturing preferred)
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamic, or similar)
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Excel; comfort with data analysis
  • Excellent communication skills for working cross-functionally
  • APICS/CPIM
    certification a plus, but not required
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience) preferred but not required. What We Offer
