Northampton, MA (opens in new tab) Posted 18 hours ago In this pivotal role, you'll be instrumental in crafting and refining forecasting and demand planning strategies that span various product lines and sales channels. Collaborating closely with teams from Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Operations, you'll ensure seamless product availability while optimizing inventory and managing costs to deliver top-tier customer service. Your key responsibilities will include spearheading demand planning within the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) or Integrated Business Planning (IBP) framework, enhancing forecast precision, and identifying both risks and growth opportunities. You'll present data-driven insights to guide strategic decisions that foster organizational growth. Key duties involve forming data-driven demand forecasts, leading cross-departmental forecast alignment, and scrutinizing market trends and historical data. You'll liaise with key departments to consolidate intelligence and develop a cohesive demand plan, monitor forecast performance using key metrics like MAPE and forecast accuracy, and take corrective actions to address forecast discrepancies. Closely collaborating with supply planning teams, you'll balance customer demand against production capacity, inventory goals, and lead times. Additionally, you'll drive continuous enhancement in demand-planning processes through improved systems, reporting, and data quality, adopting advanced analytics and automation where applicable. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in a pertinent field and at least five years of experience in a related discipline. Mastery of ERP/MRP environments, demand-planning systems, and advanced Excel proficiency is expected. Strong analytical, communication, and collaborative skills are essential. Preferred qualifications include a relevant Master's degree and certifications such as CPIM or CSCP. Experience with complex manufacturing or industries with long lead times will be advantageous.
