Supply Chain Demand Manager

Northampton, MA (opens in new tab) Posted 17 hours ago This role is pivotal in optimizing forecasting and planning methodologies across diverse product lines, clients, and sales channels. You'll be the central figure in synchronizing Sales, Marketing, Finance, Operations, and Supply Chain to ensure seamless product availability, effective inventory management, and superior customer service. The focus is on spearheading demand initiatives within S&OP or IBP frameworks, leveraging data to refine forecast accuracy, and proactively identifying strategic business opportunities and risks. Main responsibilities include crafting and refining demand forecasts that consider a variety of factors such as sales trends, market dynamics, and promotional activities. You will establish close collaborations with key departmental figures to create a unified demand strategy and assess forecast outcomes with precision, utilizing metrics and analyses to drive improvements. Addressing demand risks and opportunities, you will develop responsive planning scenarios and collaborate with supply teams to synchronize production capacities with market needs. Continuous process improvement and the integration of advanced predictive tools, including AI and machine learning, will be a critical part of the role. You will also set policies and best practices that guide scalable demand-planning processes.
- Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Supply Chain, Business, Statistics, etc.)
- At least five years of advanced experience in demand planning or related fields
- Strong capability in leading S&OP or IBP processes
- Proven success in enhancing forecast precision and converting insights into strategic actions
- Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and demand-planning applications
- Masterful with Excel and adept at using analytical tools
- In-depth knowledge of inventory strategies and balancing supply-demand dynamics
- Exceptional analytical and communication skills
- Preferred Expertise
- An advanced degree in a related discipline
APICS/ASCM
certifications- Experience in complex manufacturing settings or sectors with demanding lead times
