Job Description

Feast & Fettle is seeking an Inventory & Receiving Supervisor to join our Culinary Operations team in Elkridge, MD. This is an on-site role with a Mon-Fri 7am-3pm schedule. The role will lead inbound receiving, inventory accuracy, and storage operations and is responsible for ensuring ingredients and operating goods are received accurately, stored safely, rotated properly, and available to production teams when needed. This role is critical to operational continuity. You'll lead a small hourly team, own inventory systems and processes, and partner closely with Purchasing, Culinary, FSQA, Sanitation, and Production teams—treating each as an internal customer whose success depends on your work. What is Feast & Fettle? Feast & Fettle is the fastest-growing meal delivery service in the Northeast—and that momentum comes from a team of smart, kind people who show up to build, not just keep up. We move with urgency, sweat the right details, and bring care to everything we touch. What began in 2016 as a private chef's side hustle has grown into a company serving thousands of households, with a mission that's both simple and personal: to nourish everyday life. That mission shows up in every detail—from how we source ingredients and plan our weekly menus to the care in every delivery and the trust we build at our Members' tables. We care for our people the same way we care for our Members—with consistency, thoughtfulness, and a commitment to raising the standard. We invest in our team because we know: when you're supported, you do your best work—and help us do ours. What You'll Do As the Inventory & Receiving Supervisor, you'll oversee the daily execution and continuous improvement of receiving, inventory control, and storage operations across dry, refrigerated, and frozen environments. Receiving & Inbound Inspection Oversee daily receipt of food and non-food deliveries, ensuring items meet quantity, quality, specification, and documentation standards. Ensure complete and accurate receiving logs for traceability and performance tracking. Coordinate with Purchasing on discrepancies, shortages, credits, returns, and vendor follow-up. Support FSQA audits by flagging items and maintaining proper documentation. Ensure proper staging and storage of inbound goods according to warehouse planograms and food safety standards. Inventory Control & Rotation Lead weekly cycle counts and periodic full inventory counts across all storage areas. Validate inactive, surplus, and rollover inventory for quality, quantity, and expiration. Direct FIFO rotation and movement of inventory between storage and production spaces. Oversee special-order and long-lead inventory, ensuring accurate tracking and rotation. Warehouse Organization & Planograms Set and maintain weekly warehouse planograms aligned to each menu cycle. Ensure every item is assigned a clear, documented storage location. Partner with Receiving and Inventory teams to keep storage spaces safe, organized, and efficient. Weekly Cycle Close & Food Recovery Lead end-of-cycle consolidation, cleanup, and documentation. Oversee composting, donation, and waste logging in partnership with FSQA and Purchasing. Ensure accurate reporting of food waste, rollover inventory, and recovered product. Protein Slacking & Labeling Oversee raw protein thawing (slacking) programs following industry best practices. Ensure accurate logging and compliance with food safety requirements. Support the implementation of standardized internal labeling systems for ingredient identification. Operating Goods & Storage Sanitation Oversee weekly inventory of packaging and operating goods to inform purchasing needs. Coordinate with Safety and Sanitation teams to ensure storage areas are cleaned appropriately and on schedule. Ingredient Recovery & Real-Time Support When needed, support real-time ingredient recovery efforts, including driving to vendors using a company vehicle to procure ingredients urgently. Team Leadership & Administration Lead, schedule, and develop a small hourly team responsible for receiving, inventory counts, and rotation. Create and maintain cleaning schedules for storage areas. Approve timecards, submit payroll, and manage schedules at least three weeks in advance. Set clear expectations, provide coaching, and hold the team accountable to safety, accuracy, and reliability standards. What We're Looking For You're organized, systems-minded, and steady under pressure. You understand that inventory accuracy and receiving discipline are foundational to everything that happens downstream—and you take pride in running a tight operation. 2-3+ years of experience in receiving, inventory control, warehousing, purchasing, or related operations roles. Experience leading teams in food manufacturing, warehousing, or production environments. Strong organizational skills with a high standard for accuracy and documentation. Working knowledge of food safety, FIFO, and inventory rotation practices. Proficiency with Excel and/or Google Sheets. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in refrigerated and warehouse environments. Valid driver's license required. ServSafe Manager and Food Allergen Awareness certifications preferred. Clear communicator with a collaborative, internal-customer mindset. Tech-forward and comfortable learning new systems.
