THE ROLE

We make cable assemblies and electrical products for mission-critical clients and have grown 400% in one year. The person in this seat will know where every component is, why it is there, and what happens if it runs out. We're hiring for experience, not training from scratch. You should already know how to create and manage purchase orders, work through supplier price increases, run cycle counts and physical inventories, stage parts for production, and set reorder points

• and be ready to put that experience to work on day one.

This is a small business, so you'll wear multiple hats and move fluidly between purchasing, inventory, and the production floor as the day requires. You'll report directly to ownership/operations leadership and own this function solo.

WHAT YOU WILL OWN

Purchasing

• create, issue, and manage purchase orders end to end; negotiate and track supplier price increases; manage vendor relationships and hold suppliers accountable on delivery and quality, including resolving shortages, discrepancies, damaged material, and returns Inventory control
• run cycle counts and physical inventories, resolve discrepancies at root cause, track inventory turns, and flag excess or slow-moving stock before it becomes a write-off Material planning & shortages
• monitor upcoming production requirements, identify shortages before they affect the schedule, and take action to expedite, substitute, or reorder materials as needed to ensure materials are ordered, received, and staged in time for production

ERP & BOM

accuracy

• maintain accurate item masters, BOMs, lead times, reorder points, and purchasing data; investigate and correct discrepancies that affect purchasing or production Receiving & production prep
• inspect incoming materials, verify quantities and condition, stage components for production, and keep the stockroom clean, labeled, and organized Inventory transactions
• accurately receive, issue, transfer, and adjust inventory in the ERP; ensure physical inventory and system quantities remain aligned Outbound shipping
• prepare and ship customer orders accurately and on schedule; coordinate LTL and freight shipments, including carrier scheduling, paperwork, and pickup, and ensure orders are properly packaged, labeled, and ready for delivery Inventory transactions
• accurately receive, issue, transfer, and adjust inventory in the ERP; ensure physical inventory and system quantities remain aligned

WHAT WE REQUIRE

3-5+ years of hands-on inventory management experience in a small company

• creating and managing purchase orders, handling supplier price increases, running cycle counts and physical inventories, staging parts for production, and setting reorder points Outbound shipping experience
• experience preparing customer orders and coordinating LTL and freight shipments, including carrier scheduling, shipping paperwork, and pickup You must have the required experience for this role and be able to demonstrate it
• this is not a role to learn the fundamentals on the job High school diploma or equivalent Small business experience is required
• you're comfortable operating without the resources, layers, and dedicated departments of a large company Used to wearing multiple hats
• you move easily between purchasing, inventory, and floor work as the day demands Experience with ERPAG, QuickBooks Enterprise, SAP, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar ERP software; clean data is non-negotiable Detail-oriented by nature
• inventory accuracy is a standard, not a goal Comfortable on the floor
