Job Description

About the Role Our client, a well-established freight forwarder, is seeking an experienced Export Manager to lead and grow their air export department. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can manage a team, own client relationships, and keep operations running smoothly in a fast-paced freight forwarding environment. Key Responsibilities Oversee day-to-day air export operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and on-time performance Manage, train, and develop a team of export coordinators/agents Own client relationships for key export accounts, acting as primary escalation point Coordinate with carriers, agents, and overseas partners to secure competitive rates and capacity Ensure compliance with export regulations, documentation standards, and dangerous goods handling where applicable Monitor KPIs and department performance, identifying process improvements Support hiring, performance management, and staff development within the team Handle escalated shipment issues, exceptions, and problem resolution Requirements 5+ years of air export operations experience in freight forwarding, with prior supervisory/management experience Strong knowledge of export documentation, compliance, and carrier relationships Experience with a freight forwarding TMS/operating system (e.g., CargoWise or similar) Proven ability to manage and develop a team Excellent client relationship and communication skills Knowledge of special commodity handling (pharma, temperature-controlled, AOG/ship spares, etc.) a plus
INDUS Pay:
$70,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
