Job Title:
Materials Supervisor Department:
Materials Reports to: Materials Manager SUMMARY The purpose of this position is to assist in the duties and responsibilities of the Materials Manager in all areas of materials from raw materials to finished metal products. This position involves knowledge and/or experience in the areas of materials, quality and operations supervision or team leadership as we strive for results of 100% on time delivery and customer satisfaction.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS
Materials:
  • Steel receiving experience and knowledge including hands-on crane operations
  • Hands-on forklift operation certification
  • Vendor interaction, truck scheduling a bonus
  • Procurement-MRO - Tool crib knowledge and experience a plus
  • Scheduling, Forecasting, Ordering, etc.
Quality:
  • Knowledge and/or experience in the auditing process, familiarity with calibrations, APQP, Control Plan creation, product launches
  • Customer liaison focus
Supervision Responsibility:
  • Leading a team and achieving business goals and plant metrics
  • Experience with stamping and welding processes a plus
  • Ownership of production processes and documentation of all steps of these processes
  • Knowledge of IATF and ISO audits
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
  • Four-year post-secondary degree or related field preferred; or five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of computer systems and spreadsheets necessary to perform job duties
  • Previous supervisory experience
  • Good communication skills
  • Knowledge of
MRP, ERP, JIT, FIFO
systems
  • Basic level experience with MS PowerPoint
  • Intermediate level experience with Windows, MS Word, Excel
  • Understanding knowledge of ERMA (Ford), Non-EDI (KTH), and Web based (Toyota)
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
The associate is frequently required to stand/walk, reaching with hands and arms. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 45 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate (may be loud in production areas).
Works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airbones particles.
