Job Description
Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Inventory Control Operator to join our dynamic logistics and supply chain team. This role is essential for maintaining precise inventory levels, optimizing warehouse operations, and ensuring seamless coordination across procurement, shipping, and distribution functions. The successful candidate will leverage advanced data analysis, warehouse management systems, and process improvement techniques to enhance inventory accuracy and operational efficiency. Duties Oversee inventory management processes using warehouse management systems (WMS) and ERP platforms such as AS400 and SAP, ensuring accurate stock levels and data integrity. Conduct regular cycle counts, physical inventories, and root cause analysis to identify discrepancies and implement corrective actions. Utilize data mining tools like Power BI, Tableau, and Nielsen to analyze inventory trends, demand patterns, and supply chain performance metrics. Coordinate with procurement, logistics, and merchandising teams to optimize sourcing strategies, pricing negotiations, and category management initiatives. Manage materials handling activities including shipping & receiving, order fulfillment, heavy lifting, and materials movement within the warehouse. Develop process improvements for inventory control procedures, reducing waste and enhancing stocking efficiency. Support demand planning through data collection, analysis skills, and forecasting models to ensure optimal stock levels. Maintain detailed records of supplier management activities, contracts, and logistics inventory management documentation. Utilize spreadsheets and inventory management software for financial analysis, purchasing decisions, and inventory reporting. Collaborate cross-functionally with production planning teams to align inventory levels with manufacturing schedules. Experience Proven experience in warehouse distribution or warehouse operations with a focus on inventory control. Demonstrated expertise in warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP systems (such as AS400 or SAP), and inventory management software. Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel data analysis, data visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau, and supply chain analytics. Familiarity with procurement processes including sourcing strategies, contracts negotiation, and supplier management. Experience in logistics inventory management including shipping & receiving, 3PL coordination, and materials handling. Knowledge of demand planning techniques and supply chain management principles. Ability to perform root cause analysis to resolve discrepancies efficiently. Technical proficiency in using data collection tools for materials handling and logistics operations. Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration within diverse teams. Math skills necessary for financial modeling, pricing analysis, and demand forecasting.
