ABOUT THE ROLE JK

Steel Products is seeking a highly organized and proactive Project Manager to support operational excellence across our steel distribution network. In this role, you'll lead initiatives that improve yard operations, inventory accuracy, transportation performance, and customer fulfillment. You'll collaborate closely with logistics, sales, procurement, and yard teams to streamline processes, enhance service reliability, and drive continuous improvement across our distribution footprint.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage end to end planning and execution of projects focused on yard optimization, inventory management, transportation efficiency, and customer delivery performance. Develop project schedules, budgets, resource plans, and risk mitigation strategies. Coordinate cross functional teams and external carriers, processors, and service partners to ensure project milestones are achieved. Analyze material flow, stocking strategies, and order fulfillment processes to identify improvement opportunities. Support initiatives that reduce handling time, improve order accuracy, and enhance on time delivery. Ensure all projects comply with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies. Provide regular project updates and performance reporting to leadership.

REQUIREMENTS

Experience 5+ years of project management experience in steel distribution, metals service centers, logistics, or related industrial supply chain environments. Strong understanding of warehouse or yard operations, inventory control, transportation networks, and customer fulfillment processes. Proven ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders. Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills. Proficiency with project management tools (MS Project, Smartsheet, etc.). Education Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Business, Industrial Technology, or related field.

Preferred:

PMP, Lean Six Sigma, or similar certification. Knowledge of steel product types, processing services, and distribution workflows. Experience leading warehouse/yard layout redesigns or logistics optimization projects.

Pay:

$70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
