Position Summary The Director, Logistics & Distribution is responsible for leading and scaling Salt & Straw's logistics and distribution network—from warehouse operations through transportation and delivery to shops and partners. This role owns day-to-day execution while building the systems, processes, and network needed to support growth. You'll lead warehouse and transportation teams, manage external partners, and ensure product moves reliably and cost-effectively across the business. This is a hands-on leadership role in an environment that is still evolving. Success requires strong judgment, comfort making decisions in dynamic environments, and a practical approach to building solutions that work—along with a commitment to teamwork, curiosity, and hospitality. What You'll Do Lead and develop warehouse, transportation, and logistics teams, driving performance and accountability Own logistics and distribution strategy, including freight, routing, and cost optimization Oversee warehouse operations and 3PL partners to ensure service, accuracy, and efficiency Translate demand forecasts into distribution plans and adjust based on real-time signals Improve visibility and execution across the distribution network through systems and process improvements Partner on ERP improvements and lead future implementation of logistics systems (WMS, TMS, EDI) Monitor logistics costs and identify opportunities to improve efficiency without over-engineering Partner closely with Manufacturing, Shop Operations, and Finance to align production, demand, and distribution Support new market expansion and evolving distribution complexity What We're Looking For 8+ years of experience in logistics, distribution, or supply chain operations Experience leading warehouse, transportation, or logistics teams Experience managing 3PLs or external logistics partners Strong track record of balancing cost, service, and operational constraints Experience operating in dynamic or evolving environments Ability to build structure and improve systems while keeping day-to-day operations moving A systems thinker who can translate complex inputs into clear, actionable decisions A practical operator who builds solutions that work in real-world environments, not just ideal-state models Comfortable making sound decisions in fast-moving, evolving environments A leader who drives results through others and holds teams and partners accountable Strong judgment with the ability to navigate competing priorities and make thoughtful tradeoffs Nice to have: Experience supporting CPG, retail, or grocery distribution Experience with cold chain or perishable goods Experience implementing logistics systems (WMS, TMS, EDI) Benefits & Total Rewards At Salt & Straw, Total Rewards is designed to support your life — not just your work.
