Job Description
## The group you'll be a part of The Global Operations Group brings information systems, facilities, supply chain, logistics, and high-volume manufacturing together to drive the engine of our global business operations. We help Lam deliver industry-leading solutions with speed and efficiency, while actively supporting the resilient and profitable growth of Lam's business. ## The impact you'll make As Managing Director, Supply Chain, you will lead the strategy, performance, and transformation of Lam's global supply chain commodity organization. You will be responsible for ensuring supply continuity, supporting business growth, optimizing cost and inventory, and building cross-company strategic supplier partnerships that enable operational excellence and competitive advantage. This executive leadership role requires a strategic, results-oriented leader who can translate vision into execution, influence across the enterprise, and develop high-performing global teams. ## What you'll do
- Develop and execute global supply chain, sourcing, supplier, and commodity strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Lead supplier selection, strategic partnerships, commercial negotiations, and performance management.
- Drive improvements in cost, quality, delivery, flexibility, capacity, and risk mitigation.
- Ensure material availability and optimize inventory, planning, and supply-demand management processes.
- Lead business continuity, capacity readiness, product ramp support, and shortage recovery efforts.
- Build, develop, and inspire high-performing global teams across multiple regions and functions.
- Partner closely with Product Groups, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Finance, and Operations leaders to achieve enterprise objectives.
- Lead executive supplier engagements, business reviews, and critical escalations.
- Communicate supply chain strategies, risks, and performance to senior executives, customers, and supplier leadership. ## Who we're looking for
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, Operations, or a related field. An advanced degree (MBA equivalent) preferred.
- 15+ years of progressive experience in supply chain, sourcing, operations, procurement, or manufacturing.
- 12+ years of leadership experience managing global teams and complex business operations.
- Proven success leading supply chain organizations in a global manufacturing environment.
- Strategic and forward-thinking leader.
- Strong business acumen and executive presence.
- Proven ability to drive results through influence and collaboration.
- Skilled in leading organizational change and developing talent.
- Committed to accountability, continuous improvement, and customer success. ## Preferred qualifications
- Experience in semiconductor, capital equipment, electronics, or high-technology manufacturing industries.
- Expertise in strategic sourcing, supplier management, contract negotiations, inventory management, capacity planning, and supply chain risk mitigation.
- Demonstrated ability to influence at the executive level and drive enterprise-wide transformation.
- Experience leading teams and supplier networks across North America, Asia, and Europe.
