Supply Chain Manager Job Description The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for ensuring adherence to company policies, including safety and the use of personal protective equipment. The role involves maintaining a safe and clean work environment, ensuring timely distribution while maintaining inventory control, and promoting efficient communication among suppliers, plant personnel, and customers. Responsibilities Ensure compliance with safety procedures, rules, and regulations. Monitor plant and warehouse space daily to ensure FIFO practices. Store and handle products using the safest, cleanest, most organized, and cost-effective methods. Supervise loading and unloading of raw materials and finished goods. Address past-due orders with urgency. Collaborate cross-functionally with various departments to support logistics. Oversee team responsible for receiving purchase orders, fulfilling sales orders, and completing transfer orders. Conduct physical inventory counts of finished goods. Plan, assign work, and adjust schedules to meet production requirements. Hire, evaluate, and train logistics employees. Lead warehouse shift meetings and support team productivity. Manage warehousing, storage, and material-handling functions. Drive optimal performance from assigned resources. Partner with the Transportation Coordinator and Production Planner. Develop and present site performance reports. Collaborate with the VP of Logistics and Plant Manager on improvement initiatives. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in leading and developing teams. Ability to plan, assign, and direct work. Experience in appraising performance and coaching employees.
