Joseph Gorman Description The Materials Manager will be responsible for leading the planning, organizing and controlling of the materials department including sourcing, all production, and inventory control functions of the plant ensuring flow of orders through the plant in a timely fashion to meet scheduled shipping dates. How You Will Help Determine how much to invest in inventory, establish desired inventory level(s) and monitors to assure compliance. Implement and manage the manufacturing database including Bill of Materials, Routings, Forecasts, Item Costs and MRP parameters. Monitor the status of these orders and reports to other managers as requested. Take necessary actions to ensure orders remain on schedule. Meets service level requirements. Develop and build supplier relationships and oversees/benchmarks the Supply Chain Management process. Team with the Global Sourcing group on MCTO initiatives. Manage issuance of purchase orders and invoicing, monitoring and preparing reports or budget adherence. Organize and manage the annual physical inventory or alternatively, oversee the ongoing cycle counting process, as directed. Coordinate with the Central Planning team to determine actions needed to attain service level targets and working capital targets. Utilize the sales, forecast, and order input data to determine actions needed to attain the overall turns and working capital targets. Incorporate all of the above essential functions though a focus towards continuous improvement. What You Will Bring Bachelor's Degree with focus that complements job position. 10+ years of progressive experience in materials functions in manufacturing operations. Skilled in leading and participating in continuous improvement initiatives, TPS or similar. Must possess strong analytical and communication skills. Must demonstrate good judgment to be able to plan and accomplish short-term and long-term goals. Comprehensive experience in current ERP systems, specifically M3, for inventory control, scheduling, and forecasting are required. Experience in logility supply chain software a plus. Must be customer oriented and have the ability to work as a team player with others inside and outside the organization to maximize the focus on customer requirements.
