Overview
Job Summary

Responsible for the overall operation of the Materials Management distribution process within Surgery. All related functions will be managed in an efficient and effective manner, including, but is not limited to: Surgery Supply Room, Case Carts, Anesthesia Carts, Assigned OR Suite Pars, and Inventory Control. Performs Managerial functions for area of responsibility by effective usage of human and financial resources to achieve quality oues in line with financial goals of the institution. Responsible for assigned personnel and sections 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Incumbent is subject to overtime and callback as required by the hospital. In addition, the Senior Manager will be responsible for Special Projects by the Department Director.

Job Responsibilities

  • Interviews, counsels, disciplines, assigns, and monitors work; trains, orients, and evaluates assigned personnel. Communicates vision, policies, and procedures goals; asses strengths, weaknesses of employees and makes rmendations of changes to improve performance.
  • Analyzes department operations, identify opportunities for cost reductions and enhanced efficiency.
  • Maintains good working relationship with all hospital departments by providing service, assistance and openmunication. Develops and maintains a positive work climate and the overall team efforts of the department.
  • Manages and maintains an efficient and effective inventory control/distribution for assigned supplies.
  • Assist in development of Department Budget, monitor expenditures, personnel and operating budgets. Monitors all aspects of charges, expenses and revenues.
  • Develops productivity and performance standards. Observe and document productivity of assigned personnel to maintain department FTE goals
  • Conducts special projects and performs related responsibility as may be assigned and required by the Director.
  • Serves as a resource person for Surgery Supply areas, ISPD, and Materials Mgmt. and BMH-Memphis Facilities smooth transition between Surgical Scheduling and Surgical Services per providing supplies.
  • Overseas the picking f case carts per surgeons preference cards and assures timely delivery of carts to Surgery, Overseas the stocking of Anesthesia Carts per par levels established, overseas the stocking of assigned OR Suites per par levels established.
  • Monitors and Maintains Contract Compliance
  • o Responsible for assisting with decreasing supply expenses by evaluation of OR stock room procedures, preference card procedures and assessing back table preparation and procedures
  • o Assists in the development and maintenance of Par Levels in the OR Suites, Anesthesia Carts and Surgery Room Stock.

Minimum Required Experience

Must exhibit skills reflective of a business/clinical environment or an appropriately related field through four (4) year's healthcare materials management/Surgery Supply experience.

Preferred/Desired Experience

Previous Management experience preferred. Minimum Required Education

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience to have the skills and proficiency in ing the highly technical, accounting and clinical principals, which are central to Surgery Supply Processes and Materials Management. Preferred/Desired Education

Nursing Diploma, License and/or Degree preferred
