Full-Time, On-Site Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Materials & Logistics Supervisor to oversee the movement of raw materials, production supplies, and finished goods throughout our manufacturing facility. This position is responsible for managing inbound and outbound logistics operations, supervising forklift operators and material handlers, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring timely domestic and international shipments. The ideal candidate will have experience in a manufacturing environment and be capable of independently managing logistics activities while coordinating closely with Production, Purchasing, Quality, Customer Service, and external transportation providers. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and operational excellence. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Supervise daily logistics, shipping, receiving, and material handling activities. Lead, train, schedule, and manage forklift operators and material handling personnel. Ensure timely receipt, storage, and distribution of raw materials and production supplies. Coordinate the shipment of finished goods to customers while meeting delivery schedules and customer requirements. Manage domestic and international shipments, ensuring compliance with applicable transportation, import, and export regulations. Prepare and review shipping documentation, including bills of lading, packing lists, commercial invoices, certificates of origin, and export documentation. Coordinate with freight carriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and third-party logistics providers. Monitor inbound and outbound shipments and proactively resolve transportation, customs, and documentation issues. Maintain accurate inventory records through proper material transactions, cycle counts, and inventory controls. Work closely with production planning and purchasing teams to ensure material availability and uninterrupted manufacturing operations. Investigate inventory discrepancies, shipping errors, and material variances and implement corrective actions. Maintain organized storage, staging, loading, and shipping areas to support operational efficiency and workplace safety. Ensure compliance with company policies, OSHA regulations, and safe material handling practices. Monitor logistics performance metrics, including inventory accuracy, on-time shipments, freight costs, and material flow efficiency. Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities to improve logistics performance and reduce operational costs. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred. Minimum 5 years of experience in logistics, shipping, receiving, inventory control, or materials management within a manufacturing environment. Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience leading forklift operators, warehouse personnel, or logistics teams. Strong knowledge of manufacturing material flow, inventory management, and shipping and receiving operations. Experience managing both domestic and international shipments. Working knowledge of import/export documentation, customs requirements, and freight management. Experience working with ERP systems and inventory control processes. Strong understanding of cycle counting, inventory accuracy, and material traceability. Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Preferred Qualifications Experience in plastics manufacturing or other high-volume manufacturing environments. Forklift certification or experience managing certified forklift operators. Familiarity with Incoterms, international trade compliance, and customs procedures. Experience managing transportation vendors and freight expenditures. Work Environment Full-time, on-site position located in Humble, Texas. Manufacturing facility environment with regular interaction between production, shipping, receiving, and logistics operations. Frequent walking throughout the facility, shipping areas, and loading docks. $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
