Parts Manager

Job Description

SUMMARY:
Issue parts to technicians, look up and cross reference parts, order parts, assists with maintaining inventory, maintain the general cleanliness of the shop and parts department.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Communicate with diesel technicians to assess needs for their work orders. Hold inventory, stay organized and up to date with what we have in stock. Look up part numbers via cross reference, diesel programs, and/or dealer support. Pull parts for technicians and deliver to work station. Order parts from preferred vendors. Utilizes computer to document repair parts are charged to correct work orders. Perform spot checks to maintain accuracy of inventory on hand. Scan and input bills into Quickbooks
OTHER IMPORTANT DUTIES
Regular and consistent attendance for the assigned work hours is essential.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Must have Driver's License with a good driving record. Perform duties with little supervision. Read and follow simple to complicated instructions. Performs calculations and works with numbers to solve problems. Reads and understands reference books and manuals. Ability to prioritize multiple parts pick‐up as pertains to work order deadlines. Pays attention to detail and observes safety precautions. Knowledge of diesel repair.
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or GED. Knowledge of Microsoft Access Programs. Knowledge of diesel parts.
ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS AND CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Work is performed in a diesel repair shop. May be subject to bending, twisting, reaching, kneeling and lifting such as retrieving and replacing materials, supplies and inventory or while cleaning the shop. May be subject to exposure to extreme weather conditions, hazardous chemicals and fumes common to diesel repair shops. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
EQUIPMENT AND TOOLS UTILIZED
Operates various shop vehicles and equipment on an as‐needed basis. Operates computer, copy machine, telephone and all shop‐related equipment as needed. •Must pass pre‐employment drug screen•801-383-3380
