Job Description

Branch Parts Manager Position Specifics:
Department:
Parts Reports to:
Operations Manager Supervises:
May supervise Parts Counter Salesperson, Parts warehouse and other parts staff
Hours:
40 hours weekly
Purpose:
Responsible for parts operations within the branch location to provide the highest level of external and internal customer satisfaction while maximizing return on investment through parts sales, inventory control, and expense control. Execute parts department standard processes.
Responsibilities:
Works with all parts managers to develop and follow an annual parts department budget to provide realistic, attainable and measurable parts sales and profit goals compatible with overall dealership financial and operational objectives. Monitors parts sales on a monthly basis to ensure achievement of budgeted sales and profit goals Participates in the development and execution of the Corporate Parts Marketing Plan Assists with the development and training of parts personnel and will complete performance reviews of parts counter salespeople and parts staff Maintains an accurate and effective parts inventory control system that includes a perpetual and/or annual physical inventory and proper counter procedures Assist with counter sales to support customer needs Maintains all departmental tools, equipment , and vehicles in good working order Will submit warranty claims and return claims within the required time frame to received maximum credits allowed Will perform recruiting, staffing and employee development activities
Experience, Education, Skills and Knowledge:
o 2 + years' experience in Parts Department operations o Experience leading others o Ability to use standard computer applications such as Microsoft Office and internet functions o Ability to write speak effectively to individuals and groups o Ability to analyze and interpret internal reports o Ability to work extended hours and weekends o Excellent customer service skills o High School Diploma or equivalent experience
Benchmark of Performance:
Revenue Growth or Market Share:
Expected sales growth is 15% or more over previous years. Some conditions could indicate higher growth than this
Financial Performance:
Parts department should maintain a minimum 35% gross profit and attain 20 % net profit on sales volume.
Employee Productivity:
In order to achieve financial performance we generally find the parts people should be selling $50,000 per month per employee. Parts department is a team and it is the effort of all people together that accomplishes this.
Asset Management:
With appropriate sales for the market and good inventory management we expect 3.5 inventory turns per year
Customer Satisfaction:
85% target from a random selection of customers in the last 12 month
