Job Description
Overview We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Receiving Manager to oversee the receiving operations within our warehouse. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in shipping and receiving, logistics, and inventory management. This role is crucial for ensuring that all incoming materials are processed efficiently and accurately, contributing to the overall success of our distribution center. Duties Manage and supervise the receiving team to ensure timely and accurate processing of incoming shipments. Oversee the inspection of received goods for quality and quantity, ensuring compliance with company standards. Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to resolve any discrepancies or issues related to shipments. Implement and maintain efficient warehouse management systems to track inventory levels and streamline operations. Ensure proper materials handling procedures are followed to minimize damage and loss during the receiving process. Train and develop staff on best practices in shipping, receiving, and inventory control. Collaborate with other departments to support e-commerce initiatives and ensure seamless logistics operations. Maintain a safe working environment by enforcing safety protocols and conducting regular safety audits. Requirements Proven experience in shipping and receiving operations, preferably in a warehouse or distribution center setting. Strong knowledge of materials handling techniques and logistics processes. Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control practices. Experience operating forklifts and other material handling equipment is preferred. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail to ensure accuracy in inventory management. Strong leadership abilities with experience supervising a team in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work collaboratively across departments to achieve common goals. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, for interaction with team members, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
