UAF Facilities Services is looking for a highly organized and service-minded professional to help manage our Vehicle and Equipment Pool and keep transportation operations running smoothly across campus. In this role, you'll coordinate the day-to-day operations of UAF's vehicle and equipment fleet, including scheduling rentals and drivers, tracking preventative maintenance and repairs, managing long-term leases, monitoring vehicle availability, and helping departments find the right transportation solutions for their needs. You should be comfortable working independently, making sound decisions, evaluating exception requests, and recommending improvements to processes and operations. Successful candidates will bring general knowledge of vehicles and equipment, including capabilities, maintenance and repair needs, purchasing, and fleet management concepts such as life-cycle costing. Experience interpreting and applying contracts and collective bargaining agreements is beneficial. Strong computer skills are essential, including proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to develop and maintain spreadsheets, reports, and databases used for budgeting, maintenance tracking, rate development, and fleet operations. This position also works extensively with work-order management and fleet reservation software. The ability to effectively supervise and support employees, including student workers, is important for success in this role. A high school diploma or equivalent and three years of progressively responsible office or administrative experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience, is required.
