Job Description
About the Role VAI is seeking Bus Inspectors to provide support in United States and Canada locations. Candidates will perform oversight and inspections of manufacturing and testing of buses to ensure compliance and conformance with contract documents, policies, and federal/state regulations. Candidates must have prior bus experience as it pertains to the project and working knowledge of buses. Key Responsibilities Responsibilities include interfacing with the contractor and client and writing reports documenting inspections and work performed including:
Functional Testing:
Wheelchair lift/ramp functional tests Door functional tests Road Tests Water Tests Configuration Audits Structural Welding Audits HVAC Functional Tests Powertrain Functional Tests Electrical/Electronic Functional Tests Perform Quality Assurance and Quality Control inspections and testing including, but not limited to maintenance activities, procurement and commissioning support, in-process, FAI, mechanical and electrical inspections throughout the assembly process. Inspect frames and vehicle assemblies. Interpreting plans, specifications, and other contract documents for compliance with the work. Review contractor's work plans, drawings and installation procedures and test procedures. Witness and audit pre-delivery and acceptance tests. Effective communication in shop and office environments. Timely preparation and submittal of proper documentation upon completion of inspections, including electronic records and digital photographs, and associated file management and organization. Coordinate assistance with the Project Management staff to resolve problems and/or acquire technical input. Professional conduct while working with prime, agency, and car builder personnel. Punctuality and responsiveness to emails, texts, and phone calls. Qualifications 3+ years of experience in one of the following categories:- Quality Assurance in Inspection and Test.
- Maintenance at a Transit agency.
- Manufacturing of either Transit Buses, commuter buses, or Paratransit Buses.
Pay:
$45.00- $55.
