Position Summary The Transportation Supervisor provides day-to-day leadership for Weber's transportation operation by delivering safe, reliable, and profitable transportation services. This position develops transportation associates, fulfills customer commitments, and improves operational performance through disciplined execution, accountability, collaboration, safety, and continuous improvement. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Customer Leadership Deliver safe, reliable, and on-time transportation services that consistently meet customer commitments. Build trusted customer relationships through proactive communication, professionalism, and timely service recovery. Act with urgency to resolve operational issues while protecting the customer experience and Weber's reputation. Operational Leadership Lead daily transportation operations to achieve operational excellence through disciplined execution and sound decision making. Optimize driver productivity, route performance, and equipment utilization using data and operational judgment. Establish and reinforce standard work while continuously identifying opportunities to improve safety, service, quality, and efficiency. People Leadership Lead by example while fostering a culture of respect, accountability, teamwork, and ownership. Coach, develop, and recognize associates while addressing performance opportunities promptly and professionally. Support recruiting, onboarding, training, and development to build a high-performing transportation team. Financial Leadership Manage labor and operating resources responsibly while balancing customer service with financial performance. Monitor key performance indicators and implement corrective actions that improve productivity and profitability. Protect company assets and promote cost-conscious decision making without compromising safety or service. Safety & Compliance Demonstrate an uncompromising commitment to safety in every decision and every action. Ensure compliance with DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, company policies, and customer requirements. Investigate incidents, identify root causes, and implement sustainable corrective actions. Continuous Improvement Challenge existing processes and champion practical improvements that strengthen the operation. Support implementation of new customers, technology, and operating procedures. Leave the operation better than you found it by creating sustainable improvements in people, process, and performance. Supervisory Responsibilities Directly supervises drivers and transportation support personnel. Responsible for scheduling, coaching, performance management, training, employee development, and maintaining an engaged, accountable work environment.
Requirements:
Must Have Five (5) years of progressive transportation experience with increasing leadership responsibility. Demonstrated success leading customer-facing transportation operations. Working knowledge of
DOT/FMCSA
regulations, Hours of Service, and transportation safety practices. Proven ability to lead people, make sound operational decisions, and solve problems in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication, organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and transportation technology platforms. Good to Have Retail store delivery, dedicated fleet, multi-stop distribution, or final mile experience. Transportation startup or customer implementation experience. Experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS). Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement training. Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Transportation, Business, or related field.
