Job Description

Overview Dedicated Logistics Partner, LLC is seeking an experienced Terminal Manager to oversee our Windsor Locks, CT transportation operation. This is a full-time overnight management position , Monday-Friday, with an anticipated start time of approximately 8:00 PM and an average workday of approximately 10 hours. The Windsor Locks terminal supports a large-scale dedicated delivery operation consisting of approximately 51 box truck and tractor-trailer routes . The Terminal Manager will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day transportation operations, leading the terminal team, maintaining safety and service standards, and ensuring operations are conducted efficiently and in accordance with company policies and applicable regulations. What You'll Do Oversee daily transportation and terminal operations to ensure routes and deliveries are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule. Lead, organize, and manage transportation personnel to ensure work is completed consistently with company standards. Monitor operational performance, productivity, service levels, attendance, and other key performance indicators. Provide leadership, coaching, and direction to supervisors, drivers, and other terminal personnel. Conduct nightly pre-shift meetings and communicate operational priorities, safety expectations, and service objectives. Address and investigate customer complaints and operational issues and work with the team to identify appropriate resolutions. Ensure company policies, procedures, safety requirements, and transportation regulations are followed. Work closely with management and staff to develop and implement transportation procedures and improve operational performance. Coordinate vehicle repairs, routine maintenance, and equipment needs to support reliable operations. Identify operational challenges and implement solutions in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment. Maintain strong communication with employees, management, customers, and other operational partners. Review operational data and reports to identify trends, performance issues, and opportunities for improvement. Support staffing and recruiting efforts in coordination with Human Resources. Assist with employee performance management, coaching, and corrective action when necessary. Help maintain a high standard of customer service while balancing safety, productivity, and operational goals. What We're Looking For 5+ years of experience in transportation, logistics, final-mile delivery, or a similar management environment. Previous experience directly supervising transportation employees, drivers, or operational staff. Strong knowledge of transportation operations and logistics. Experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Strong leadership and team-management skills. Excellent communication and conflict-resolution skills. Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving abilities. Comfortable using operational reports, data, and performance metrics to make management decisions. Knowledge of transportation safety practices and applicable regulations. Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and navigate stressful situations. Strong customer-service mindset. Proficiency with transportation management systems and/or other operational technology is preferred. Schedule Monday-Friday | Overnight Shift Start time: Approximately 8:00 PM Average shift: Approximately 10 hours Candidates must be comfortable working an overnight schedule and managing a transportation operation during evening and overnight hours.
Compensation & Benefits Salary:
