Position:
Manager, Transportation Services This Regional Health Systems funded position is classified as supporting a department for the Regional Care Group network. The incumbent hired will represent Regional Care Group network on official communications. Regional Health Systems is Northwest Indiana's largest provider of community-based mental health care, primary health care and addiction treatment services. We offer adults and children—both uninsured and insured—integrated care through our community mental health center and federally qualified health center. Regional Health Systems is a member of the Regional Care Group.Position Description:
This Manager is responsible for operation of safe and efficient transportation services for Geminus, Regional, and RBA program participants. This includes a Geminus Courier Service that regularly delivers documents and supplies between Geminus and Regional service locations. Transportation of Geminus, Regional and RBA Clients/Patients must be done in compliance with the Law as well as applicable program standards/regulations that define how such transportation must be provided and documented. The Manger is responsible for maintenance and scheduling of all Geminus, Regional and RBA vehicles utilized to provide these transportation services. The Manager is responsible to partner effectively with direct service managers to plan and deliver the best possible transportation solutions possible, including regularly updated routes and schedules for each program with a commitment to safety priorities that are never compromised. Maintenance of quality customer service is also critical. Driver credentials for these transportation services vary with each service but the transportation staff is expected to work as productively as possible to help keep these quality transportation services more affordable. The Transportation Manager is responsible for authorization of use of all vehicles and assuring regular preventive maintenance of the vehicles utilized. Training responsibility includes training of any employees who ride vehicles to assist with clients/patients. This position will also have to drive when necessary to ensure availability of services. The Transportation Manager will also be responsible for transportation contracts and finding ways to provide these services in a cost-effective manner.Essential Function:
Hire, train, supervise, evaluate, and discipline, as necessary, all Geminus, Regional, and RBA employees, who are employed to drive vehicles to transport clients/patients and transport company program information and supplies. Ability to make sound decisions in the face of transportation, crisis, situations. Capacity to efficiently and effectively monitor and manage driver schedules/time to help keep transportation expenses as cost effective as possible. Ability to manage preventative maintenance system for all Regional, Geminus, and RBA vehicles, to prevent breakdowns and downtime, and to secure cost effective repair work, when such breakdowns occur. Manage the transportation department within budgeted resources. Continue to develop skills that can improve the capacity to add value for transportation dollars spent. Provide intensive, initial training for drivers, as well as, ongoing training to continue to improve the skills and performance of transportation employees. Demonstrate a strong commitment to personal, ethical, integrity Sensitivity to diversity of Regional, Geminus, and RBA workforce/clientele and demonstrated personal tolerance/respect for those differences.Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalentExperience:
Five years of experience conducting trainings, five years of driving experience, two years of experience in a supervisory role.Other Requirements:
Class B CDL; School Bus Driver endorsement (Blue or Yellow Card)Job Type:
