As a rapidly growing, asset-based transportation and logistics company operating across more than 30 states, we specialize in pool distribution, final-mile delivery, automotive logistics, and dedicated transportation services for nationally recognized customers. In this role, you will assist in coordinating day-to-day terminal operations to ensure freight is processed efficiently, routes are dispatched successfully, and customer service expectations are consistently met. This position requires significant time on the warehouse floor, leading by example and helping to develop drivers and warehouse personnel. Key Responsibilities- Support the Terminal Manager with all daily terminal operations.
- Supervise warehouse associates and delivery drivers during assigned shifts.
- Assist with receiving, sorting, staging, and dispatching freight.
- Help coordinate daily delivery routes and driver assignments.
- Monitor on-time departures and delivery performance.
- Address operational issues quickly and escalate when appropriate.
- Coach employees on safety, productivity, and company procedures.
- Ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA, and company safety policies.
- Assist with employee onboarding and ongoing training.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe terminal environment.
- Monitor freight accuracy and help minimize damages and service failures.
- Communicate professionally with customers, drivers, and internal departments.
- Assist in achieving terminal performance goals and customer service expectations. Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate's degree or transportation/logistics education is a plus.
- 2+ years of experience in transportation, warehouse, logistics, or distribution operations.
- Previous supervisory or team lead experience preferred.
- Pool distribution, LTL, courier, final-mile, or delivery operations experience is a plus.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office.
- Experience with transportation or warehouse management systems is preferred. What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is someone who:
