The Transportation Coordinator is responsible for the coordination, scheduling, and execution of truck movements across the Richardson network, ensuring that durum semolina commodities are delivered efficiently and cost-effectively. This role involves managing relationships with carriers, internal departments, transportation partners, and external customers while monitoring transportation performance and regulatory compliance. This position requires on-site presence and is not a remote role.
Key Responsibilities:
Tender loads for the various durum semolina commodities with carriers and assist with coordinating loads on the bulk rail to truck transloading and dry van side as needed Manage data within the intercompany Rail and Truck TMS systems, ensuring accuracy and completeness Monitor load progress through collaboration with Production and the carriers. Keep appropriate files along with the impacted stakeholders updated. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to protect customer's pipeline fluidity Identifies/anticipates potential problems and solves daily issues Prepare custom paperwork for railcars as well as truck shipments Capture railcar arrivals for demurrage analysis and potential dispute Research and extract historical trip cycle data from railcar TMS to analyze railcar fleet performance Monitor RR daily service schedule and maintain scorecard data for analysis Relationship Management - Create a collaborative environment with cross-functional partners that assures prompt two-way flow of communication. Able to maintain relationships with industry peers and providers that reinforce logistics lead on the provider base. Performs other duties as assigned which support the transportation department.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or related field preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required. Experience in transportation/logistics, preferably within the consumer-packaged goods industry. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations. Problem-solving mindset with a focus on efficiency, accuracy, and collaboration. Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
