Position Overview

The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is seeking an organized, professional, and results oriented individual to serve as Senior Public Service Administrator

•Option 6 (Associate Deputy Director, Dually Involved Youth and Human Trafficking Prevention). DCFS offers a competitive compensation plan, excellent benefits, and a pension program. Essential Functions Serves as Associate Deputy Director of Dually Involved Youth and Human Trafficking Prevention.

Provides the Deputy Director and the Director with major administrative input into agency programs and operations which are of high importance within the community and child welfare constituencies.

Reviews, oversees, and coordinates the overall implementation of various Departmental pilot programs within the oversight of Clinical and Child Services.

Provides advice and consultation in the development of Department curriculum related to transition to adulthood, human trafficking, and dually involved youth.

Serves as full line supervisor.

Develops and strengthens relationships between DCFS and law enforcement agencies, probation offices, the public guardian, the courts, and all other related public agencies. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications Requires an MSW or a master's degree in a related human services field from a recognized college or university.

Requires four years of administrative child welfare experience with an MSW or five years of administrative child welfareexperience with a master's degree in a related human services field.

Preferred Qualifications Three years of professional experience managing or working in children and youth services in a public or private organization.

Three years of professional experience conducting or managing a social service program in a public or business organization.

Three years of experience in the supervision of professional staff in a public or business organization.

Three years of professional experience in the development of management reporting systems.

Three years of professional experience in the development of policies and procedures. Conditions of Employment Requires ability to pass a background check.

Requires ability to travel in the performance of duties, with overnight stays as appropriate. Requires appropriate, validdriver's license.

Certain provisions of the revolving door restrictions contained in 5 ILCS 430/5-45 apply to this position. As a result, theemployee should be aware that if offered non-State employment during state employment or within one year immediatelyafter ending State employment, the employee shall, prior to accepting any such non-State employment offer, notify the Officeof the Executive Inspector General for the Agencies of the Illinois Governor (OEIG) or may be subject to a fine.

This position has been found to meet the requirements in section 4A-101 of the Illinois Governmental Ethics Act requiringthe occupant/employee to file a Statement of Economic Interest. The Illinois Governmental Ethics Act (5 ILCS 420/4A et seq.)requires certain state officials and employees to file annual Statements of Economic Interest with the Office of the Secretaryof State that will be made available for examination and copying by the public. All employees required to file a Statement ofEconomic Interest are also required to file the Supplemental Statement of Economic Interest with the Executive EthicsCommission. (See Executive Order 15-09) Fines and penalties apply to untimely filings.
