Job Description
Summitt Trucking, LLC is currently seeking experienced Driver Managers for the Clarksville, Indiana location.
Must analyze all situations and communicate material facts pertaining to the load or delivery issue. Must be able to effectively communicate to customer service and be prepared to speak directly to the customer when necessary and provide them with an alternative schedule for a delivery time. The Driver Manager will be required to record all service issues and/or failures which involve their assigned driver(s) in the appropriate application. Will be required to take the necessary steps to issue a service failure and be able to effectively communicate concerns to the drivers. The Driver Manager must reprimand and issue disciplinary measures to the drivers as outlined per the Driver Handbook. Preplanning is critical and the Driver Manager should stack as many preplans on a driver as practical, within the guidelines of service hours; and in consideration of other potential factors which may limit them. Using the current ELD system (Samsara) is necessary, and the Driver Manager should utilize this communication tool as much as possible. If a driver needs to speak directly or privately with a Driver Manager, this should be made possible by the Driver Manager. By sending a driver his/her preplans in advance, excessive telephone calls may be avoided as the driver will be more prepared. Communication between Driver Manager and driver is key. Driver Managers must confirm drivers are aware of all preplanned assignments and ensure all assigned loads have been sent electronically through the current workflow provider (Roller). Maintain an open line of communication to the drivers during his/her hours of operation. Utilize current ELD (Samsara) to confirm accurate information is maintained. It is the responsibility of the Driver Manager to check and correct the required check calls in TMW - Dispatch by their assigned drivers. Must promote, adhere to and manage the hours of service requirements for all assigned drivers. Driver Logs should be monitored for accuracy by utilizing the available tools and resources; such as Samsara logs, key documentation such as receipts, dispatch records, and check calls. Drivers who falsify or do not comply with the hours of service regulations are placing the company at risk and are subject to fines and convictions. Any driver who falsifies or refuses to comply with the hours of service requirements is subject to immediate termination of employment. Any violations must be immediately reported to the Director of Safety. Employee relations with new drivers are critical, therefore it is required of all Driver Managers to greet a new driver and to communicate expectations as well as to discuss his/her needs. Maintain and update periodically, as the day progresses, the driver's estimated arrival/departure times and the driver's remaining available time (PTA) and alert Load Planning of any delays or changes in a timely manner. Driver Managers must communicate concerns regarding driver performance or violations so appropriate action may be taken and the customers will not be impacted. Must be able to handle multiple tasks with the ability to prioritize and complete tasks in a timely and efficient manner. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and be able to update spreadsheets, prepare emails, and communicate through interoffice communications and to the fleet through current ELD provider (Samsara/Roller). Must document and communicate any information which may result in legal problems, compliance issues or jeopardize customer or community relations. Must answer emails and phone calls in a timely manner. Driver Managers must keep drivers up to date on any required maintenance on the equipment. Must work 45 hours (or more depending on the needs of the company) weekly and adhere to your schedule. Any schedule change must be pre-approved by your direct report and HR. Employees must adhere to the breaks and lunches per the attendance policy outlined in the Employee Handbook.
Job Summary:

Will be responsible for charting and taking a proactive approach as a manager of people to maximize driver performance. Remote work expectations:
When working remotely, employees are required to respond to emails in a timely manner and must have the ability to forward their office extension to a mobile device. Remote work should be conducted with the same level of professionalism, availability, and productivity as in-office work. All remote work arrangements must be pre-approved by management and are permitted only on a limited, case-by-case basis.Qualifications:
Minimum of five (5) years of management experience in the transportation industry. Knowledge of all DOT regulations including hours of service requirements and driver logs. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficient in TMW Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a timely and efficient manner. Proficient in Microsoft Office. Ability to create and maintain spreadsheets and to interpret charts and graphs. Able to work 45 + hours weeklyWorking Conditions:
