Job Title:

Transportation Coordinator, Supply Chain Operations - 26-00263 Spherion Mid Ohio, in partnership with The JM Smucker Company, is seeking a Transportation Coordinator to perform shipment tracking for the Smucker Supply Chain team in Orrville, Ohio. The Coordinator will begin on 6-month contract to start, with potential opportunity for extension. This role offers a hybrid work schedule and a fantastic opportunity to gain supply chain experience within a Fortune 500 organization!

Overview:

The Coordinator will be responsible for transportation planning, shipment tracking, and issue resolution throughout the JM Smucker network. The Coordinator is directly responsible for managing transportation plans, implementing action plans, and monitoring performance metrics while maintaining a focus on cost and service.

Key Responsibilities:

Track shipments using systems and communication with carriers Assess potential exceptions to on-time pickup and delivery Contact carriers via system notes, email, and phone for truck location and ETA's Create action plan to resolve common and complex exceptions Work with shippers, carriers, and internal stakeholders to execute action plans Proactively communicate resolutions to impacted parties Provide carrier performance feedback to internal and external stakeholders Ensure carrier coverage of all shipments from assigned sites Communicate with shippers, carriers, and internal stakeholders as needed to ensure alignment to transportation plan Identify performance issues, develop carrier action plans, and monitor results Document site-specific transportation requirements Align transportation operations activities to support site needs

Skills and Requirements:

Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in Business or Supply Chain Experience in a 3PL or Client transportation organization Problem solving and analytical skill set Attention to detail and accuracy Strong professional communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to follow detailed Standard Operating Procedures Ability to learn and navigate within several computer systems and platforms Strong Microsoft Office skills Commitment to thorough and accurate documentation

Compensation:

$25/hour (approximately $52,000 annually)

Schedule/Location:

This position is full time (40 hours per week). Schedule is Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm. This position offers a hybrid work schedule .
