We are seeking an experienced Night Transportation Manager to lead overnight transportation operations at a growing food distribution facility in Nashville, TN . This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who understands drivers, dispatch, routing, fleet operations, DOT compliance, and the day-to-day challenges of keeping a transportation operation moving.COMPENSATION
Salary:
$83,000-$87,000 annually, based on experience Competitive pay, full benefits, and a stable work environment with a growing company.WORK SCHEDULE
Candidates should review the schedule carefully before applying: 5 to 6-day work week 40+ hours Start time of split shifts until work is completed Mandatory Holiday shifts and Sundays Off Saturdays This is an in-person position in Nashville, TNWHAT YOU'LL LEAD
As the Night Transportation Manager, you will provide day-to-day direction within the Transportation department and oversee the fleet of vehicles for the Nashville location.Your responsibilities will include:
Daily dispatch of drivers and assigning all equipment needed for the day. Route - Routes and Mapping of routes for effectiveness and route efficiencies, to ensure on-time deliveries to customers. Ability to review Samsara cold chain and driver compliance management. Directly supervise drivers, fleet, and all overnight transportation functions of support. Communicate service issues to Sales, Customer Service, and Operations teams. Coordinate with Operations to ensure customer and driver needs are met. Participate in the hiring ofDrivers:
interviews, road tests, paperwork, and administrative tasks. Participate in Safety investigations; review and reporting with root-cause analysis. Conduct and hold monthly driver meetings on current performance with customer base. Perform review of all driver payroll hours in Kronos system. Comply with and review all SOPs and HOS in accordance with DOT and FMCSA regulations. Collaborate closely with vendors to schedule PMs, repairs, and rental equipment for the fleet. Review and perform audit of payroll record keeping, time sheets, and times in Kronos system. Prepare driver schedules, approve time-off requests, and address discipline and attendance issues. Coordinate with the distribution center and shuttle driver arrivals and loading of routes for nightly dispatch. Coordinate movement throughout the dock with partner companies. Complete special projects and other duties as assigned.WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR CDL-A
Required High School diploma or GED 2+ years of experience in transportation At least 1 year of experience in a supervisory capacity Knowledge of driver safety and DOT compliance requirements Transportation or Warehousing experience in the Food industry a plus Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite; Produce Pro ERP software a plus Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and maintain attention to detail and accuracy Self-managed and motivated with the ability to work through difficult situations Leadership skills with focus on morale and team motivation Must pass pre-hire drug screen and physical Legally eligible to work in the U.S. Must be able to read, speak, write, and understand English; bilingual a plusWHY THIS OPPORTUNITY?
