.. As a General Transportation Manager, you will lead a complex transportation operation focused on delivering safe, reliable, and efficient service across Walmart's supply chain network. What You'll Do Lead Transportation Operations Develop and execute strategic business plans that support facility goals related to safety, service, productivity, maintenance, and operational excellence. Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, optimize resources, and improve transportation performance. Monitor operational metrics and implement solutions that support business objectives and customer expectations. Champion Safety, Quality, and Compliance Ensure compliance with all company, regulatory, safety, and quality standards. Establish, maintain, and communicate operational processes, procedures, and documentation that support safe and efficient operations. Promote a culture where safety is embedded in every aspect of the operation. Drive Financial Performance Manage facility budgets and financial performance by monitoring expenses, asset utilization, and operational costs. Analyze business reports and performance data to identify opportunities, mitigate risks, and improve results. Ensure resources are effectively allocated to meet operational and financial goals. Build and Develop High-Performing Teams Lead, coach, and develop facility leaders and associates to achieve operational excellence. Set clear expectations, establish performance goals, and provide ongoing feedback and development opportunities. Support talent management activities, including hiring, onboarding, succession planning, performance management, and career development. Foster an inclusive environment where associates feel valued, supported, and empowered to succeed. Optimize Workforce Planning Review and approve staffing plans to ensure workforce levels align with business demand and performance expectations. Partner with leadership teams to proactively address talent needs and support future growth. Resolve Operational Challenges Address associate, customer, and supplier concerns by conducting thorough investigations, evaluating facts, and making timely, informed decisions. Collaborate with cross-functional partners to solve complex operational issues and drive positive outcomes. Represent Walmart in the Community Serve as a leader within the local community by supporting charitable initiatives, participating in community organizations, and promoting Walmart-sponsored events and programs.
