Position Overview The Driver Manager / Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating, planning, and dispatching drivers for the efficient conveyance of freight. This role involves utilizing transportation management software and phone communication to issue assignments, optimize delivery schedules, and manage and assigned driver pool. The ideal candidate will ensure maximum productivity, high levels of customer service, and strict DOT compliance.

Pay range is commensurate with experience Key Responsibilities Driver Management & Compliance Oversee daily driver activities , managing e-logs, hours of service (HOS), time-off requests, and training opportunities. Monitor compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and initiate corrective actions when necessary. Equip drivers with the necessary tools , instructions, and documentation required for timely, compliant load deliveries. Communicate and problem-solve directly with drivers regarding load assignments, escalating unresolved issues to the immediate supervisor. Collaborate with internal teams including Managers, Supervisors, Safety, and HR to address overall driver compliance and performance. Load Planning & Dispatch Operations Plan and dispatch drivers based on customer requests, load specifications, and equipment availability using transportation planning software. Proactively forecast schedules , planning beyond immediate delivery times to optimize fleet utilization. Review load tenders to ensure all customer-specific requirements are thoroughly communicated to and understood by the driver. Track shipments in real-time to ensure efficient routing, optimal time management, and punctual deliveries. Coordinate emergency maintenance and necessary repairs to swiftly restore service and get drivers back on schedule. Customer Service & Communication Serve as a primary point of contact for customers, carriers, brokers, and supervising personnel to resolve questions, concerns, or transit issues. Provide proactive notifications to customers and internal planners immediately if a load falls behind its original ETA. Administration & Financials Issue EFS checks to drivers in strict accordance with company policy. Maintain digital records by updating dispatch software and customer portals with freight charges, arrival/departure times, trailer numbers, and detailed status notes. Partner with the Payroll Department to ensure all driver paperwork is collected at the end of the week. Complete daily Per Diem sheets for weekly distribution to payroll.
