Job Summary The Trailer Shop Mechanic supports shop operations by performing routine maintenance, diagnosing complex issues, and executing trailer repairs to ensure an efficient workflow and exceptional service for drivers. This role requires a blend of technical expertise andstrong problem-solving skills, along with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively. Key Responsibilities Diagnostic & Repair Operations:

Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on trailer components, including brake systems, suspensions, axles, wheels, tires, and electrical systems, utilizing schematics and technical manuals.

Electrical Troubleshooting:

Execute advanced automotive electrical repairs, including wiring diagnostics, precision soldering, and electronic module troubleshooting.

Welding & Fabrication:

Fabricate custom parts or modify existing components using professional welding, cutting, and fabrication techniques to meet specific repair requirements.

Suspension & Alignment:

Assist with vehicle alignment procedures and steering/suspension repairs to optimize vehicle handling and safety.

Tire Management:

Perform comprehensive tire services, including mounting, dismounting, balancing, and replacing worn or damaged tires on both trailers and heavy equipment.

Shop Tool Proficiency:

Safely and effectively utilize a wide array of power and hand tools for precision assembly, disassembly, and ongoing equipment maintenance.

Documentation & Compliance:

Maintain meticulous service records of all completed repairs and maintenance activities while strictly adhering to workplace safety protocols.

Experience & Qualifications Required Experience Proven Track Record:

Demonstrated experience as a mechanic within a dealership setting, heavy equipment repair environment, or commercial fleet shop.

Technical Mastery:

Deep understanding of mechanical systems repair, including diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, and complex electrical systems.

Diagnostic Skillset:

Proficient in reading schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex vehicle and equipment systems.

Tool & Equipment Proficiency:

Skilled in utilizing advanced automotive diagnostic tools, heavy power tools, and specialized fabrication equipment.

Physical Capability:

Ability to safely perform heavy lifting and demanding physical tasks while maintaining high precision during repairs and component replacements.
