In this vital role, you will oversee the planning, execution, and continuous improvement of transportation activities to ensure efficient, cost-effective delivery of goods across multiple channels. Your leadership will drive process enhancements, optimize supply chain performance, and foster a culture of teamwork and excellence. This position offers an exciting opportunity to shape transportation strategies that support overall business growth and customer satisfaction. Duties Develop and implement comprehensive transportation management strategies aligned with company goals, focusing on process improvement, lean principles, and continuous enhancement of logistics operations. Oversee transportation planning, including demand forecasting, production scheduling, and inventory management to ensure timely order fulfillment and distribution efficiency. Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers (3PL), non-vessel operating common carriers (NVOCC), and other partners to optimize freight costs, service levels, and supply chain reliability. Utilize transportation management systems (TMS), warehouse management systems (WMS), enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, and supply chain analytics tools to monitor performance metrics and identify areas for process optimization. Supervise warehouse operations related to shipping & receiving, inventory control, distribution operations, and warehouse distribution activities to ensure seamless flow of materials. Lead a team of logistics professionals by providing managerial communication, supervising staff, fostering team management skills, and promoting a safety-first environment. Oversee budgeting processes related to transportation costs, procurement activities for freight services, and inventory management to maintain financial health. Drive continuous improvement initiatives across supply chain functions by analyzing data, implementing process management strategies, and adopting best practices in logistics management. Experience Proven experience in transportation management with a strong background in supply chain operations, logistics management, and distribution operations. Demonstrated supervisory experience leading teams within warehouse or logistics environments with a focus on team management and operational excellence. Extensive knowledge of transportation planning, demand planning, procurement/purchasing processes, and inventory management techniques. Familiarity with 3PL providers, NVOCC operations, freight shipping & receiving procedures, and warehouse management systems (WMS). Hands-on experience with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle; proficiency in Microsoft Office tools for data analysis and reporting. Strong understanding of profit & loss responsibilities along with budgeting processes related to transportation costs. Ability to implement process improvement methodologies such as Lean principles or continuous improvement frameworks to enhance operational efficiency. Pay:
$60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
