Transportation Coordinator

Job Description

Job Description The Transportation Coordinator supports daily transportation, warehouse, and administrative operations by scheduling freight, coordinating with carriers, communicating order status, and helping ensure timely, accurate product distribution. This role works closely with sales, operations, warehouse teams, and carrier partners to provide reliable service, resolve issues quickly, and support continuous improvement across the distribution process. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Schedule, coordinate, and monitor outbound and inbound freight to support customer orders and operational needs. Communicate with carriers, brokers, sales, operations, and warehouse teams to confirm load details, pickup times, delivery appointments, and order status. Track shipments and proactively communicate delays, changes, incidents, or service issues to the appropriate internal and external parties. Maintain accurate transportation records, shipping details, carrier documentation, and related administrative files. Assist with freight cost review, invoice support, rate confirmations, and other transportation related documentation as needed. Support routing decisions by helping identify dependable, cost-effective transportation options that meet customer and operational requirements. Help identify process gaps, service failures, or recurring transportation issues and assist with corrective actions. Promote a culture of customer service, accountability, and teamwork. Remain reachable for urgent transportation matters and occasional weekend support when business needs require it. Maintain consistent, punctual attendance and perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Strong communication skills with the ability to follow up promptly and provide clear updates to internal teams, customers, and carrier partners. Ability to prioritize work, manage multiple shipments or tasks at once, and respond effectively in a fast-paced environment. Detail oriented approach to scheduling, documentation, data entry, and issue resolution. Demonstrated reliability, professionalism, integrity, and commitment to customer service. Working knowledge of transportation, logistics, warehousing, order fulfillment, or related operations preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
Hourly Wage:
$22.00 - $27.00 per hour
