Job Description

Sol Transportation is seeking a dependable and experienced Part-Time General Mechanic to maintain and repair our fleet of company vehicles. The ideal candidate will have solid mechanical skills and excellent communication, as they'll work closely with our Fleet Coordinator to prioritize and complete repairs efficiently. This will be a Part-Time, evening position. The start time may fluctuate or vary due to transportation needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform routine maintenance and repairs on company owned vehicles (Oil changes, tire changes, brake pads, etc.) Diagnose mechanical issues and determine appropriate solutions Communicate clearly with the Fleet Coordinator to coordinate scheduling and repair needs Keep detailed records of maintenance and repair work Maintain a clean, safe and organized workspace Ensure all vehicles meet safety and compliance standards
Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience as a mechanic Strong knowledge of vehicle systems, diagnostics, and repair techniques Excellent communication and teamwork skills Valid drivers license with a clean driving record Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
Preferred Skills:
Experience working on commercial or fleet vehicles Basic computer or tablet skills for record-keeping
