Lead Tree Climber / Crew Leader — $35-$42+/Hour Cedar Stone Tree Works LLC is looking for an experienced Lead Tree Climber / Crew Leader to join our growing tree care company. This is an experienced climbing position — not an entry-level position and not a bucket-truck-only position. You will be expected to climb every day. Our current production model requires a lead climber who is comfortable completing removals, technical rigging, pruning, and other aerial tree work primarily through climbing. While we use aerial lifts and other equipment when appropriate, applicants must be willing and able to climb as a regular part of the job. Previous professional tree-climbing experience is required. Compensation $35-$42+ per hour , based on experience, skill level, and ability to independently lead production. Higher compensation may be considered for an exceptional candidate with a combination of advanced climbing ability, technical rigging experience, crew leadership experience, and a CDL A. Typical schedule is Monday-Friday, approximately 40 hours per week , with our primary production season running March through December. What We're Looking For The right candidate should be confident performing tree removals and pruning from a rope and saddle, including technical removals requiring rigging and sound judgment around homes, landscaping, utilities, and other property. Responsibilities include climbing and aerial tree work, technical removals, rigging, pruning, operating chainsaws and tree-care equipment, helping direct ground crew members, planning efficient job setup and work sequence, protecting customer property, and maintaining Cedar Stone's standards for safety, professionalism, and cleanup. The long-term goal is for this person to become capable of leading production on jobs independently without requiring constant owner supervision. Requirements Professional tree-climbing experience is required . Applicants should have strong climbing ability, removal and rigging experience, familiarity with proper pruning practices, a valid driver's license, dependable attendance, a strong work ethic, and the ability to make safe decisions in the tree. Bucket truck and spider-lift experience are valuable, but this position cannot be filled by someone who only performs aerial work from a bucket or lift. CDL A is strongly preferred but not required.
