JOB DESCRIPTION
Field Crew Leader
  • Landcare (Seasonal) Urban Ecosystems is hiring a seasonal Landscaper.
This position is focused on the establishment and maintenance of performance gardens and urban meadows. Typical activities include weeding, mulching, and installing a variety of meadows and plantings. Email questions and resumes to .
REQUIREMENTS
  • Must be 18+ Years of Age
  • Bachelors degree in Horticulture, Botany, Environmental Science, Ecology, or related field. AND/OR 4+ years experience in Landscape or Garden services.
  • Previous Team leadership experience
  • Minnesota plant identification, including common perennials, weeds, and native prairie grasses/forbes
  • Pesticide applicator license, current or able to obtain.
  • Must be able to operate independently and carry out tasks with minimal direction and supervision.
  • Full time seasonal employment
  • April 1st
  • November 30th.
  • Ability to operate in a safe and efficient manner light machinery such as mowers, edge trimmers, brush cutters, and other miscellaneous landscape equipment. This will not involve the operation of heavy machinery.
  • Ability to complete general grounds care manually. This entails physical bending, kneeling, or squatting to pull weeds, remove debris, or apply soil amendments
  • Ability to lift 75lbs and carry for a variety of circumstances such as lifting bags of leaves/grass clippings into the back of a truck or trailer, lifting mowing equipment into a truck or trailer, lifting and moving various obstacles
  • Preparing beds for planting and seeding. Includes manually spreading topsoil, mulch, and other landscape materials.
  • Hauling and disposal of excess waste soils, vegetative debris and other materials.
  • Must have a valid Minnesota Driver's License.
  • Must be able to reach shop location with personal vehicle.
PREFERRED
  • BA / BS in Horticulture, Forestry, Ecology or related fields.
