Job Description
Engineered Marine Products (Bessemer, AL) is growing & looking to add a Shipping Lead/Supervisor! We are a company that is privately owned, employee focused, & an innovative leader in the marine industry. We are seeking an experienced and strategic Shipping Supervisor to oversee all aspects of shipping operations-ensuring efficiency, safety, and compliance. The ideal candidate will have a compelling background in supply chain, logistics, warehouse supervision, with proven leadership skills, and optimize processes. This role involves overseeing shipping & receiving & process improvements to support the company's operations, shipping goals, and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities Oversee freight operations including UPS, FedEx, DHL, LTL, & full truck load. Actively work to optimize shipping & receiving processes. Implement process improvements utilizing principles and continuous improvement strategies to enhance productivity and reduce waste. Coordinate with procurement, production planning, and logistics teams to align inventory levels with shipping demands. Utilize our ERP system (Epicor) for shipping processes. Ensure effective warehouse strategies are in place to meet customer demands efficiently. Skills Experience in shipping and operations. Basic computer skills with Microsoft 365 (Excel, Word, etc) Strong knowledge of supply chain management & logistics Proven supervisory experience, preferable in a warehouse environment, with leadership skills to motivate teams. Familiarity with ERP systems. Ability to develop strategies aligned with production planning and inventory management. Skilled in shipping & receiving, order fulfillment, and warehouse distribution.
