Position Overview:
We are looking for a dependable, experienced, and team-oriented Warehouse Supervisor to oversee our overnight warehouse operations and lead our Warehouse Leads and Associates. This position reports directly to the Warehouse Dock Manager and is responsible for ensuring the shift operates safely, accurately, and efficiently while meeting daily operational and customer expectations. The Warehouse Supervisor will provide direction to the Warehouse Leads, manage workflow and staffing throughout the shift, address operational issues, and hold the team accountable to company standards. This is a hands-on leadership position, so the Supervisor must be comfortable working alongside the team and operating warehouse equipment when needed. This is a refrigerated warehouse environment, and the Warehouse Supervisor must be comfortable working in chilled or cold conditions as part of our cold chain operation. This is more than managing a shift. It is about developing leaders, building a strong team, solving problems, and creating an environment where people are held accountable while being given the support they need to succeed.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee daily warehouse operations throughout the assigned shift Lead, coach, and develop Warehouse Leads while providing direction and support to Warehouse Associates Assign responsibilities to Warehouse Leads and ensure priorities are clearly communicated throughout the shift Manage inbound and outbound dock flow to ensure freight is handled safely, accurately, and on time Monitor staffing and adjust assignments based on freight volume and operational needs Ensure Warehouse Leads and Associates are meeting performance, attendance, safety, and operational expectations Monitor freight handling to prevent damage, shortages, overages, and inventory errors Ensure refrigerated and frozen freight is handled properly to protect product quality and cold chain integrity Oversee inventory accuracy, receiving, staging, storage, and shipping processes Use the Warehouse Management System (WMS) to manage freight movement, inventory, locations, and warehouse transactions accurately Understand and execute manual warehouse processes when necessary, including receiving, shipping, inventory tracking, documentation, and freight movement Ensure the warehouse can continue operating accurately when systems or technology are unavailable Safely operate a stand-up forklift and Electric Pallet Jack (EPJ) when operational needs require Ensure equipment inspections, safety procedures, and warehouse policies are followed consistently Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment Provide real-time direction and problem solving when operational challenges arise Coordinate with Dispatch, Customer Service, Transportation, and other departments to keep freight moving efficiently Communicate shift performance, unresolved issues, staffing concerns, and operational needs to the Warehouse Dock Manager Support the training, onboarding, coaching, and development of warehouse team members Identify opportunities to improve processes, productivity, accuracy, and overall warehouse performance Lead by example and promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, communication, and service Uphold Minuteman's MILES values in daily decisions and interactions
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required Previous warehouse experience required, preferably within transportation, refrigerated warehousing, food distribution, or LTL operations Previous warehouse leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred Experience leading and developing Warehouse Leads or other frontline team members Current stand-up forklift certification required Experience operating an Electric Pallet Jack (EPJ) required Experience using a Warehouse Management System (WMS) for receiving, shipping, inventory, location management, and freight movement Strong understanding of manual warehouse processes and the ability to maintain accurate operations when systems or technology are unavailable Strong understanding of inventory control, warehouse documentation, and freight tracking Strong communication, organization, and decision-making skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and adjust quickly as operational needs change Ability to identify problems, make decisions, and provide direction without requiring constant oversight Comfortable holding team members accountable while maintaining positive working relationships Dependable, detail-oriented, and willing to lead by example Ability to work in a refrigerated and physically active warehouse environment Flexibility to work weekends and holidays based on business needs
