Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Operations Supervisor, this position will be acting as the primary decision-maker on the floor and on the road. This role dispatches and routes drivers, directs a team of virtual assistants supporting dispatch and administrative functions, and personally assists with warehousing, loading, and unloading. The Operations Supervisor delegates tasks to downline staff, keeps freight moving on schedule, and ensures every load is staged, handled, and secured safely from dock to delivery. Duties Mon to Fri - 1400 - CL Key Responsibilities Operate day-to-day trucking dispatch: assign loads, build routes, and adjust schedules in real time based on driver availability and delivery windows. Route drivers efficiently, factoring in delivery deadlines, hours-of-service limits, traffic, and fuel and monitor hours. Track driver progress and proactively resolve delays, breakdowns, or route changes aa they arise. Communicate daily with virtual assistants handling dispatch support, load tracking, paperwork, and customer updates; assign and review their work. Act as the on-the-ground decision-maker for the operation, resolving issues without waiting for escalation and owning the outcome. Qualifications 2+ years of experience in trucking dispatch, logistics, warehousing, or transportation operations. 1+ years in a supervisory, lead, or decision-making role managing drivers or warehouse staff. Comfortable directing remote staff (virtual assistants) as well as on-site drivers and warehouse crew. Strong, confident decision-making skills; able to take ownership of the operation without constant oversight. Familiarity with proper cargo securement, safe loading and unloading practices, and warehouse safety standards.
